I'm Currently Feeling: | Wobbles Food Diary So here goes a bit of better eatting I'm hoping to lose some weight. I'd apprieciate any advise along the way so don't mind any comments
First step was budgetting - We're doing a weekly shop & buying what we're eatting!
Breakfast - Slice of toast
Afternoon - Tinned soup or cupasoup
Evening -
*Spag bol with turkey mince made with chopped tomatoes & herbs with wheat pasta with healthy option/low fat cheese
*Chicken breast & salad
*Shepards pie with lamb mince, carrots & peas
*Chicken supreme with wheat rice (made with soup & veg)
*Gammon, pineapple & baby potatos
*Cold ham salad
*Stuffed peppers & baby potatos (no cheese)
Once a month we're going to have steak & salad!
Once a month we're going to have a roast dinner!
Changes:
Lots of fresh juices instea dof ribena, coke etc.
Lots of water
Semi skimmed milk instead of full fat
Brown bread instead of white
wheat rices & pastas
No cheese with salads
1 sugar in coffee/tea instead of 2
No drinking
Low fat dressing for salads
Mince will be boiled before cooking (spag bol & shepards pie)
Nothing will be fried
My deep fryer is being locked away tomorrow
All my junk food will be boxed tomorrow & used in the summer for BBQ party |

| Great idea to boil your mince, I do that and you want to see the scum that comes out!
IMO, you're not eating enough in the day. You'll be so hungry by teatime you might 'fall off the wagon' and I bet your dinner portion will end up HOOOOOGE!
I'd double the breakfast toast, and supplement both breakfast and lunch with lots of yoghurt, fruit and nuts/seeds to make sure you're getting some good fats (I notice there's no oily fish on your menu )
There's some great evening meal ideas though, I'm going to rob 'em!
I was so hungover yesterday, I ate 2 jam doughnuts, chinese takeaway and loads of Celebrations BUT, internet food shop is coming today so my diet really starts NOW |

| Definatly agree with Minxy, your not doing yourself any favours eating that little during the day, you will starve, and although for the first week you will lose weight, you will then start storing fat cause you will be forcing your body into famine!
A whole grain cerial would be better than toast (and you didnt mention what would be going on that toast) plus have like Minxy said healthy snacks during the day and have more than soup for lunch.
Also your dinner options are okay but you have no fish in your diet oily or otherwise plus chicken is a great low fat meat which you could eat a hell of a lot more of. | | | | Status: Offline

Cereal isn't really to my taste
Did forget to say fruit will be there for snacks! :P
Fish - YAK No fish in my house Thanks for the tips on chicken :P |

Fish - YAK No fish in my house Thanks for the tips on chicken :P | This may be why you have dificultly with weight loss, as weird as it sounds you need to eat more to lose weight, and be healthy. if you eat too little for long enough your body adapts to this and will manage on it, without you getting hungry, however what this does is makes your body find ways of conserving energy, but sheading muscle tone for example cause that requires a lot of fuel, (hence body builders eating sh*t loads) however if your muscle density decreases, you store more fat instead, plus your organs stop working as hard, your body prioritises what needs the food most so takes it away from things like bones, hair, nails, skin etc which all then suffers, and you leave yourself open to more serious conditions like diabeties, depression, (slow down in production of seratonin) and osteoperosis, as well as fertility issues.
If you find it hard to eat prekfast, and trus me I understand cause untill a while ago I could never stomach eating first thing in the morning, try to just have a fruit juice, smoothie or fruit tea first thing, then wait an hour or so before eating some sort of wholegrain cerial, cerial bar (not with too much sugar) or chopped banana with dry museli and a yogurt on top is great. | | | | Status: Offline

| Sunflower, pumpkin, sesame. Sprinkled in yoghurt they're lovely! H + B do a salad sprinkle which is a mix of types.
Best nuts are almond, brazil, walnut. They're oily and also contain lots of selenium and zinc. If you go for peanuts no salt!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Cat thanks, I knew to eat healthy I had to eat so thought if I could stomach some toast & soup in the afternoon I'd be better than the 'nothing' I usually do.
Still not fond of cereals mind may stick with toast x 2 & fruit for snacks! Can nuts be snacks? |

| Nuts can undeed be snacks! y OH has them in his lunch box each day instead of crisps. And its a lot more filling too. The cheapest way to do it is to buy in bulk and stick it into a tupperware container and scoop out a handfull each day to munch on. You can get them from your supermarket, health food shop (where your likely to get deals) and market stalls a best. Get a mix of nuts and seeds and dried fruit, this is all round great for your diet! | | | | Status: Offline
