Help with benefits... only returning to work 16 hours pw?

Hi,

So here's my situation...

I work full time and get £15000. Oh work 24 hours pw and takes home about £150 pw.

When LO arrives I'll get 6 weeks 90% and then 6 weeks 45% (+ SMP) so thats all good... but after that I really don't know how we are gonna afford things with Oh only working part time.

So I was thinking if I only went back under 16 hours.. would I be entitled to housing benefit etc?

I know we'll be entitled to wtc and cb but working it all out we really would be better off with me not working full time

Hmmm is anyone else in this situation??

xx

not sure if you will be entitled to working tax credits with 2 wages coming in hun, but you will be able to claim child tax credits for sure and i would just try for housing benefit, you never know - we were never entitled to it, even when the 2 kids were small and i didnt work but they have changed the testing for it now so its always worth a shot
you could try entitledto.com that is ment to be a good site for seeing what you should be able to claim, but tbh when i put in my info from now it doesnt tell me the same as we actually get lol

You will get WTC with 2 wages coming in, but it depends on the level of income.

Deffo try Entitled to, and also check the info on Direct.gov.
