Allowance?

Does anybody else get a monthly allowance from their OH's or is it his money = your money and your money = his?

Its our money. We just spend as we need/want within means.

Weve sorted things so basically I will get 400.00 (euro's) per month that will be just mine. 50.00 (euro's) to each of the kids a month, then whats left will be for Rich and whatever else we need/bills etc x

nope - we just do our money - james goes to work, but everything goes in one pot and we spend what we need. i have a credit that that james pays off every month, have done for years now x

No he spends his and pays the bills, i spend mine and get all of Brookes stuff that she needs, we kind of worked out a way to spread everything out between us without actually having to put our money together iykwim

We have a joint account that everything goes into and out of.

Before that he would pay the bills every month and i would get the weekly shopping and we would keep what each of us had left seperate. He would pay for everything if we went though lol

We have a joint account and just buy everything from that which we need. We are both very sensible with money and always discuss "big" purchases first, other then that we just get what we want out! This is just what works for us and I understand wont suit everyone, but due to our big outgoings eg mortgage etc it is easiest and suits.

We have a joint account so it all just goes in, and we spend as needed. No fights so far. We have been like this for 6 years now.

not really we have 2 seperate accounts. All the bills, gas electric, council tax, rent etc goes out of his bank, whats left in mine is what we have to live on
