BLW - when to use cutlery & plates?

Hey ladies
My LO will eat from a pre loaded spoon but I would like to introduce fork and plates. When did you start and what products do you find best? I've tried looking on the net, some say to start about 9/10 months but unsure what products to go for suction bowls etc. Anyone help?

Thanks :-)

I started using a fork at about 9 months, I've either always just left it with her if she is eating on her own or pre-loaded it for her. She only started being able to put food on both the spoon and fork herself in the last 2 days though. I used just a basic todlers set from Asda.

As for a bowl/plate I only started using that in the last 3 months, before this each time I tried she just put the food on the tray and then chucked it onto the floor. I've always used a normal plastic plate and haven't tried the suction ones so not sure sure about those.

We have a tiger plate from tesco and a fork and spoon set from boots. We originally got her fork from tesco but threw it away as it was way too rounded so she couldn't even stab her food up to eat and would get frustrated. We started putting food on her plate & in the bowl rather than on the highchair at 1 year+ about the same time we started giving her her fork and spoon. I sometimes preload both and give them back to her, but have also showed her how to use them and she's getting the hang of it but still mostly eats with her fingers. She still sometimes tries to pick up the bowl and plate so if she does i put the food onto her highchair tray instead x

My LO is 1yr and has just started complaining when she sees that I'm using a nice shiny fork and she isn't - so we are off to get her a set of her own!
