At what age have you/will you take your baby off bottles?

A while ago I noticed that Chaise was doing really well with his sippy cups. He can hold them himself and even drink without the lid on. He really didn't seem to need a bottle, so I started giving him his milk in cups.

He hasn't had a bottle for a few weeks now. I was worried that it was too early but couldn't find a reason why I should keep him on a bottle if he could drink from a cup.

Whats your opinion?

Thanks

There's no reason at all that they should have bottles at all, if he's happy taking it from a cup, then great!

Atm Ruby won't drink milk from her Doidy cup but I will keep trying, I would like her to her to be only on a bedtime bottle within the next 3 months or so.

I was aiming for Freya to be off bottles or just on a bedtime one by the time she was one, but she won't drink milk out of her doidy and even if she did, she is still on way too many bottles to have milk solely in a cup.

I think it's great that you have got him off bottles now

I think its great to have him off the bottle as soon as. I'll be aiming for the same with my LO. At the moment I am only just getting her to drink from trainer sippy 'bottle to cup'. I'd hope to have her completely off a bottle between 9-12months, (we'll see lol!!!) so I say well done you!!!

thank you for posting this! I was about to!!!

just a quick q...hope you don't mind!

When they talk about 'weaning from bottles'...I was looking it up and it seemed to be about getting them off milk completely...but does it actually mean to start putting they're milk in a cup?!

I have been wondering this too, Myles drinks water from a sippy cup at mealtimes now and I think I am going to try giving him one formula feed a day in his cup instead of a bottle and see how we go, ATM he likes to have his bottles then nap so am going to try the first feed in a morning when he isn't sleepy
