Books (BLW & Traditional)

I just wondered if anyone could reccomend some good books as im feeling totally lost when it comes to weaning.
Im terrified of introducing solids, my babys growing up too quickly

But i digress.....
Iv already ordered the Gill Rapley blw book...but does anyone recommend any good books aiding Traditional style weaning (purees etc), i dont just mean recipes but like advice on when they should and shouldnt start having things...where to start at all lol etc etc

any help would be greatly appreciated xxxxx

[edit - so sorry for my ridiculous amount of typos lol...im really not paying attention atm]

We have the Annabel Karmel book, which gives loads of recipies for puree's and example meal plans from 6 months. I've found it to be a great help. It explains how to wean, what to give, as in what to start with and when you can introduce other foods.

u might wanna hold off ordering any more books until u've read the Gill Rapley one coz once i'd read it i never picked up another weaning book. plus if u do decide to BLW, traditional weaning books end up pretty redundant (i've had an AK weaning book which has done nothing but gather dust since i read the BLW book).

Hi Kriskitten.
Organix recipe book is very good. Also Finger Foods for Babies & Toddlers is helpful if you baby becomes fussy. Otherwise, Annabel Karmel's books are good (though they do contain alot of cheese so if your baby is intolerant to dairy, that could be a problem). good luck!

Im afraid tho that im not able to do BLW for a ridiculous reason - my mum and stepdad think it sounds like 'a load of tosh'

Obviously they have no direct say in anything i do with tommy but i just cant bear raised eyebrows every single time i feed him - i WILL go mad.
lol
So my plan is during our meal times he can have something off my plate to play with or snack on but he has purees for his main meals xxx

Oh that's a shame! Maybe your LO will have other ideas though....lots of babies actually won't allow you to spoonfeed them (such as mine)
