Fruit?

In baby class yesterday there was a plate of fruit for ourselfs and the LO's, so I tried Kane with a bit of melon, he loved it. I think it was because it was cool on his gums not sure lol.

Anyway, he managed to 'bite' a bit of it off (he has no teeth yet) and the HV said to take it out of mouth incase he choaks even though he was chomping it down (was tiny)

Surely this is ok as many other babys this age eat toast etc? What fruits can they have as this age?

with all this BLW stuff around nowadays that sounds like the perfect example of how to give food! Maybe she is just covering her back!

I would imagine that officially, HVs are supposed to discourage giving solids to a baby less than 6 months old, so maybe it's to do with that.
