Water

Can anyone tell me when you should start offering water to your LO.

I have just started weaning my LO (starting with baby rice) and wondered whether he should be given water with it and if so how much?

I am breastfeeding him.

I don't think I'd offer with baby rice as it's made with milk anyway but maybe when you're offering something a bit more substantial?

I don't know that water is essential if you're still nursing... which I think you are?

I started offering sips to my daughter at the end of her 4months because she was SOOOOO interested when I drink... She takes sips straight from my glass and loves it!! I think it's adorable.. and a couple sips shouldn't affect anything.

We started when we started weaning, but that wasn't until 6mo. He didn't drink it though for months after that. I just offered it with meals in a sippy cup so he'd start to learn how to use it and to drink with his meals.
