Weaning bang on 6 months??

Hi, my son is 5 months and 2 weeks. Can I start weaning him now or do I have to wait till the 6 month mark?

The guidelines are to wait until 26 weeks but at the end of the day it is up to you
If you're doing BLW there's no harm in starting now as he won't eat for a while anyway. But if you're going to be doing purees, I would only really start now if he has all the 'signs', like sitting unaided and being able to reach, grab then bring things to his mouth accurately. As I said, up to you though

If you feel that your baby is ready then go for it. If they're demonstrating the signs of being ready - more interested in watching you eat, not as satisfied by milk alone etc. My HV recommended definately starting at 6 months but not before 17 weeks if it could be helped.
