Rice cereal...then what?

Hey what did you give your babies after rice cereal? *Our pediatrician said rice cereal first then "other cereals" so I bought oatmeal. My sister said no oatmeal because it has gluten in it and it's an allergin?? Should I have gotten something else?should I skip to veggies?

I went straight to veggies after baby rice. Pureed carrots, parsnips and sweet potato are good ones to try first. Baby rice is perfectly good as a cereal for now. When he's a little older you can buy pre-mixed cereals which have, oats, barley, quinoa, etc.

i give dex baby porridge. I've been weaning him with that instead of the rice. anything with wheat/gluten can be an allergen, best to wait for a while to give it. id go to veggies next.

If you just mean for Breakfast as that's have I've read it go for unsweetened, as natural as possible cereals. Ellis is having Rice Crispies, Weetabix and Ready Brek. If it's just the first food you've been trying then ditto what everyone has suggested!
