Should we get it..?

Me and OH will be TTC from June onwards hopefully, and I've been talking to someone on a stuff for free/sale site who is selling a buggy set with carseat and pram and footmuff, for £110, it cost £400 brand new and shes only getting rid as its too big for her mums car.

Do you think its too early to start buying stuff? We've got the room to store but don't want to tempt fate or look crazy!

x

It's nice to be prepared but what if it took you... say 1-5 years to get your bfp, it would only make you sad having it...

it's up to you, I don't see anything wrong with it - but just make sure it's not too big/heavy for you and will fit in your car, ask if you can take it for a spin around their garden/house (make sure you put a bag in the seat so that it adds the weight of a baby), sounds crazy but it's a good way of seeing if its the pram for you and how well it pushes around, also check how easy you find putting it together

It really is a personal opinion thing but I wouldn't. Before having my son I had 2 MMC's and became quite depressed about them and know that it would have made me feel worse having things about afterwards. I wish everyone the best with pregnancy but I would say that almost everyone I know with kids has had at least one miscarriage at some point so it is worth bearing in mind. Also if you do have a MC, if you will feel like you are using an item that was meant for the baby you lost. There is also the possibility of it taking a long time to get pregnant and although you could still use a pushchair that you have kept for years the chances are that the item would seem outdated and you would want a new one anyway.

Like I say it is personal opinion though.

I couldn't have said it better. I'm sure there are always bargains to be had as well. Maybe you could keep the money you would spend somewhere safe and use it once your pregnant. That way you get the fun of pram shopping whilst your expecting. I would imagine it would be a lot more exciting that way

It's a very personal thing as someone else has said. I am not a superstitious person but I refused to buy anything for DS until we were passed week 24 of pregnancy. I have to admit it's a bit different now we are waiting for #2 I am keeping things aside and stuff (but I wouldn't buy anything), but I know I wouldn't have bought anything while WTT #1. Good deals always come about, and one thing to be weary of is buying second hand car seats, make sure you know the history of it and get someone to look over it. But this is just me, I'm not right or wrong lol.

Yeah I would probably get, well no, I would get a new car seat. My mums always been wary of them, and having had an accident herself with a baby in the car, she knows the importance of a decent and undamaged car seat and would make me get a new one anyway.

I'll wait It will be more fun when I'm actually pregnant, true true

I probably wouldn't buy it simply because I would be worried that if I bought it than I would never get pregnant. I guess I'm a little superstitious. I don't intend to start buying stuff until I have a BFP at the earliest but I'm hoping to hold out until at least the first 12 weeks have passed. I know that's probably easier said than done but that is my current plan. I think if you're not superstitious and have room to store it than I see no reason to not buy it.
