Trying to Lose it before I try again..Anyone else?


Hey everybody. I decided to wait a year to try to concieve because I am over weight and I want to have a healthy pregnancy. I am waiting a full year until I start trying again. I am wondering if there are any women are in the same boat as me..or they are just waiting until Febuary of next year..to try to concieve? I am looking for support. I really want a child (I am 27 and the clock is ticking it feels like) and it is hard to stay on birth controle right now!! However, it is for my future child and my health!

I am WTT for my first but am also keen to lose weight - a lot of it! It's going, slowly but surely... very slowly in fact and Christmas definitely hasn't helped. I seriously lack discipline! Have you got any kind of regime or just being generally healthier?

I just started. I plan on eating healthier in general, getting plenty of exercise and I am starting a yoga practice. I started everything today. I consulted with a nutritionist and my doctor several months ago. The nutritionist said to restrict my calories to 1600-1800 calories a day. When I exercise I like Jillian Michaels, Tai Bo and Dancing videos like Zumba and Cardio Latin Dance. Like I said, this is day one of my getting fit year. I figured I would start on a Sunday..

I'm hoping to loose weight. Less than 6months till my 30th bday. And hoping TTC time! I have started weight watchers, signed up to do th ed half marathon in April to give me a short term goal to work towards fitness and exercise. Just need rid of this cold i got last week, then th training begins!

I want to run a half marathon too! Money is tight right now though and I can not afford the gym membership. Also, there is two feet of snow, if not more, on the ground right now!! I might be able to afford some thermal running tights, water proof shoes and cleats in Febuary though. Those would help! I am also keeping a food diary and exercise log. I have heard that keeping one is a great way to keep you on track!

I am trying to lose as much as I can before fallin pregnant and then staying on the healthy eating track once I am actually pregnant. I joined my fitness pal.com and I think it's great, tells you how many cals you should be having depending on your weight and how much exercise you are doing and then you can track your food as well x

i too am waiting to try, dont want to wait much longer but really want to lose some weight first !!!

I will have to look that up! It sounds like it might be a great tool for losing weight!
I have a lot to lose. I use to weigh less. However, life happened and now I am stuck in a rut. I try not to be too hard on myself. I noticed yesterday that if I were preggers I could not go outside and run because of the snow. I would not be that used to a yoga practice. I would be fighting uphill to have a healthy pregnancy. So today, I started talking to my future children..in my head and I said, "I want you both so bad (I see myself having two) however, I want to be as healthy as possible for you. Please give me a year to shape up. In one year I promise I will be a healthier momma for both of you!"
I don't know if my future children are even decided yet. However, I talked to them. I hope they heard!
