Does anyone chart to avoid?

Well it's been awhile since DH and I have avoided!! lol, we're not sure which road to take. We really don't want to wear condoms, because I get reactions to the latex. Also, I don't want to go on BCP, because we're only avoiding until May, and i don't want to risk complicating things even more.

Has anyone tried charting to avoid? Tbh I didn't want to, because I'm enjoying the break, but I think it might be the best idea to avoid BD during O?

Have you charted before? Could be hard if you don't already have an idea how your cycles work. Before pregnancy I O'ed around same time but Im not sure if that could change atm for me because this is the method I want to use as well - see sperm lives around 3 days so sex 3 days prior to the day charting shows O day you still have a chance of pregnancy. With Caitlin I now when I conceived and it was due to sex 2 days before due O day ... if you see what Im syaing here?

You could chart or go on the general info - like for a 28 day cycle I wouldn't have sex from day 9 for a week in that month (& hope lol), CM signs also but again sex day before fertile CM can end in pregnancy.

You can get non latex condoms.

I've been charting for a while. I'm probably due to O in 2-3 days....Feeling a bit weird now that we're NOT bding...as right now I feel like I should be ripping DH's jeans off! lol....I have a 30 day cycle. I'm on CD14 at the moment, and if FF is correct, it's saying I'm "possibly fertile" although I have not temp'd in a couple of days...I'm kind of enjoying the break tbh!

On previous cycles have you O'd around same day?

If that was me I'd bin the thermometer and relax whist on a break. I charted for handful of months and knew my cycle very well.

For example I O'ed day 12/13 (I think lol) I'd not have unprotected sex on day 9 or 10 if I was risky ha & not have sex again until at least the 15th.

I think I'll do that too......I know I want to put the theremometer away but it's sooooooo hard not to!! I have to force myself to not get it out the past two mornings! But I'm glad I haven't, because it's taken a lot of pressure off

Thanks for your advice sweetie, I usually O somewhere between CD15 and CD18 (it varies) So I might just hold off on the BD for a week or so

If it varied like that for me I'd personally go with CD10 - 20. Eek lol

Saying that sometimes the relaxed way works Maybe if it wouldn't be so bad if you fell between now & then I'd just ditch the thermometer, not count your cycle day etc and go on as normal.

I've heard of people doing it but I don't think it's very safe. Especially if you ovulate early or late for whatever reason and don't realise & because the swimmers could be living inside you for several days, before you notice you're about to ovulate.

I think it's fine if you'd be ok with a pregnancy but if getting pregnant now is definatly not an option then it's not a good idea.

I charted to avoid for the last 5 years. I have a 24-25 day cycle I OV on day 14 or 15 and have a 10 and 11 day LP.

We usually stop BD'ing CD9 (to be safe) never going beyond CD11. We resume when I have no fertile CM or day 16 or 17.

We got pregnant on the cycle where we decided to BD on day 13 and 14. But we were well aware of the potential of making a LO.

I should clarify, I do not chart temp, only CM and double check with CP around OV.

I just knew my cycle, and would avoid BDing during that week. I was off BC for 2 1/2 years before we decided to go for it. I am not sure if we got lucky, because I got pregnant the first month we tried. So, who knows.

I don't chart, but with charting wouldn't you find out too late whether you have avoided for that month or not? x
