encouragement for those pregnant with twins...

you hear loads of horror stories of how bad its going to me, so I thought Id let you know that I am enjoying it and its really not as bad as I imagined.

Dont get me wrong its NOT easy, and I really could do with a full nights sleep but its not really as terrible as I thought it would be.

Biggest problem for me is that i have a 25 month old toddler to give my attention to as well. AND going anywhere is a logistical nightmare, infact i have not tried to go out by myself with the three of them yet!

Day to day is fine though, we have a routine which my toddler seems to love (we never had one before).

We are all full of the cold right now and its difficult holding them both and a toddler and sometimes at feeding time one will have to cry for a bit until i am able to get the first one feeding (i generally prefer feeding them separate but sometimes you have to feed them at the same time).

I dont have any hints or tips but the last 10 weeks have gone by soooooooo fast, there have been tears along the way but I can honestly say I am loving it.

Thanks Eternal, its good to know first hand that it isn't as bad as some would make out.

I go from being totally excited by the prospect to worrying I'll never make it out my pj's from day to day xx

well i must admit most days at spent in PJs I never did that with my son but its not unusal for all of us to me in PJs all day

i didn't last on breastfeeding, which i think made it easier on me, i didn't quite for that reason, one twin couldn't latch due to tongue tie which they didn't find and the didn't latch properly but could feed (although painful) but i didn't like the idea of feeding one and not the other. If I had been at home I would have expressed but they wouldn't let me in the hospital, so had to hand express off 1ml at a time for my tongue tied twin.

But no its good, I may be in my PJs but house is very tidy and clean, i tend to stay in PJs as its comfy on my scar and warm whereas if im sitting for awhile in jeans it can get sore. (i had a section as they were breach)

I think as long as your organised and have a routine it's fine! We've never done a pj day, ive always manged to get us all dressed even though maybe not till lunchtime occasionally.

If I had to give a tip it would be to make time for just sitting and cuddling! It goes way to quickly the last year has just flown by!!

i agree it is not as bad as it could be! we go out most days though usually in the afternoon as it takes a while to mobilise. i have been to mother and baby club the past 3 weeks and also pop into town or meet firends for coffee.

routine is definately the key though and thankfully they are my first so no other kids to organise!

My twins were born the same day as Eternals and it has been great! The work never ends and there are really hard days but they are few luckily! I am so blessed to get to watch three beautiful babies grow up, two of them side by side!

I'm not knocking the mums struggling to bond at all but I had an immense love for my twins before they were born and I fall more in love with them each day
