Help please

Hi ladies. I am having twin girls and I am thinking of bf (pumping) give me the good bad and the ugly. I want to make my decision realistically. Twins r hard enough n I need to know what I'm getting into if I bf. I am nervous about getting depressed to begin with bc hormone drop being increased with twins and scared bf will be 2 much. What was ur experience??

Couple questions.

1. When u go out and u pump can u take a few bottles and leave it in dipper bag? ( milk stays good out of fridge for 6 hours I was told)

2. How often do u breasts feel like they need to be emptied? ( bc I m feeding 2 babies it will be more frequent)

I really don't know what to ask I just would like to hear ur experience.

Every 3 hours I could get 5-8 ounces but threw the towel in after two weeks as it was so painful cos we had visitors all the time!

Thanks for sharing. I feel as if I'll try it but at the same time don't think I'll stick to it.

I pumped every 2 hours when twins were in NICU, now they r home I breastfeed as mush as I can but pump every4-5 hours and get 5-13 oz. my breast always feel full though. when I go out, I pump and leave it in bottles. I also bring my pump with me if it's a 1/2 hour drive or longer and I pump while riding in car. Breatfeeding two is so much harder than one. It's exhausting and hard on me...but I love how my daughter looks at me when I do it..my boy is in it for the food, not the bonding he just stats focused on sucking no time to be lovie to momy.

Do u ever sleep? I'm afraid of not getting enough rest and being trapped in the house bc of how frequent I have to pump. My doc told me my personality is more likely to get depression when they r born so that's y I am afraid bc if I can never sleep n it's all on me I'm sure to get PP. ( I left that doctors office I thought it wrong to tell me bc I have a type a personality I would get pp depression that's not true but now it's in my head so I'm scared to bf if it's constant and no sleep)

You will have your hands full but you will be ok. I do like pumping and giving them the milk because I know how much they get and they go longer between feedings than when I give them the breast. It's a ton of work and there are times I want to give up and give them formula...but I remember how premature they were and how beneficial breastmilk is. I hate your doctor planted the seed in your head about pp depression..you may do just fine. My best advice is to feed them together! Get them on same schedule and it makes like so much easier.

Love my doctors now but the last doctors words still stock in my head. I am just going to have to see how pumping goes maybe it will work out great for me

Seems to me that it's about 8x the work. Why not just bf them naturally instead of pumping, then feeding?

I want to pump so I can have help at night feeding them. If I just bf then it's all me. Pumping means my husband can feed one baby while I feed another and when people come over they can help by feeding them as well.

Please dont think I am attacking you..I just want you to think through this..30 minutes of prep, washing, pumping, freezing, thawing, all to save 10 nursing? I did it with my twins..It sucked..I have bf'd 8 children..when I was pumping, it was the worst..I thought the same thing..Ill need help...It was more work, I got less sleep, not worth it...Also, there are so many young women who try it like this, and fail..After a few months, they formula feed...It's just too hard..it wasn't meant to be that much work...I wish you luck, but admire your dedication if you can do it..
