I don't but honestly, I am with you on not doing the amnio..They will already have some other docs there as a precaution when they are born...

I am with you, when I had my NT scan hubby and I had already decided that if one or both came back high risk that an amnio or termintation was out of the question.

To he honest it is only a risk factor and in most cases of High Risk positives the baby is fine, so personally I wouldn't worry about it. You will have another scan at around 20wks and it is a detailed scan od heart, kidneys, everything so you will get a better indication and look then, so until then just try to relax and not let it work you up. After all it is only a risk factor and not a certainty.

Oh hun I dont have any experience but I think I wouldnt want the amnio either. I suppose if you already know there is a high risk then you wouldnt need it. Maybe prepare yourselves for both aspects.
xx

no advice either but I can tell you you will have so many scans that you will know before they arrive if you have a downs baby - the 20 week scan looks for soft markers like nasal bone etc etc. Its nerve wracking isnt it big hugs xxx

Me and dh wouldnt have had the amnio either if one twin came back high risk, we would never terminate. Like Vicky says you will know if you have a downs baby before its born so don't worry too much. xxx

It's difficult to test accurately for twins because they can't do the blood test, so it's down to mum's age and the measurements they take. I think they have to err on the side of caution if they have nay doubts.

As everyone has already said... it's a risk factor, and only a small number that are considered high risk actually turn out to be Down's. You will get plenty more scans to confirm either way, so try not to worry

I have to agree with everything the others have said. On a personal note my sister in law was told she had a very high risk of her little boy having downs, they decided agaisnt further tests and she then had a perfectly healthy boy. Try and stay positive.
