I promise, it really does get better by 3 months. We are now sleeping 6-8 hours a night (in a row) and it's amazing!
If you call me sometime I can walk you through how I got them latched on by myself. I've always tandem fed and it gives you so much more extra time in your day. Did you get an EZ2Nurse Twin nursing pillow. They are spendy but truly a life saver.
Message me and I can get you my phone number if you want to talk.
I really do think Babywise will help you. I swear by it! And nearly worship it! lol. | I did get the EZ to nurse twin pillow. I love it! I would love to chat with you to see how you tandem feed by yourself. My little girl is not a great nurser so if she lets go, it take a few minutes to get her back on. So when I have both of them to juggle, it seems to be a struggle. Also I want to chat with you about the babywise book. I just got it a few days ago and I am trying to get them on a 3 hr schedule. The harder part is getting them to stay awake for a full feeding. How long do you let them stay awake after a feeding? The past two nights they have been waking every 3 hrs which is a heaven send considering they were 2 hrs the week before. I have to admit that we are co-sleeping with them and this seem to keep them asleep a lot longer. I know it is starting to be a bad habit but I get so many more hours sleep at night doing so. |
At start I only kept them awake for 15-30 minutes after a feeding and as they get older that gets longer. Now, they typically are awake 1-1.5 hours after a feeding and then nap for 1.5-2 hours. Are you swaddling? Are you using white nosie? These 2 things have helped our girls sleeping longer at night. They will get better at breastfeeding and latching them on won't be as difficult. By about 2 months my girls were breastfeeding champs and started latching on all by themselves. You, too, will get there. We started doing a diaper change (when they were 1 month or so) in the middle of their feeding. It woke them up enough that they would eat some more. You might try that. : )
