My doctor was all for letting me to do a vaginal birth. However, both were breech so I never did get the chance.

I delivered vaginally - Fynn (T1) forceps and Sam (T2) breech (yes yes double ouch lol) I was induced at 37+4 and in total labour from waters breaking to them being here was 8 hours - I had an epidural and it was touch an go for a c section but it all worked out in the end. Small episotomy and some forceps grazes but at just over three weeks later I am all but totally healed.

I am very glad it happened this way as Fynn was in NICu for nearly three weeks after delivery and we had sam at home so doing the new baby thing and visiting NICU every day would have been a lot harder recovering from a c section I would have imagined.

xxxxxxxx

I had my boys vaginally, but had to deliver in the OR and have an epidural just in case baby b had trouble. Which I planned on the epidural anyway. No way was I going to deliver twins without it. lol It took forever for the pitocin to kick in tho. It was started by 8am and I didn't have them until 2:36pm and 2:41pm.

Laura 2919, what was your experience of this?

thank you
Well my girls were born at 29 weeks and were transferred to a different hospital so we didnt see each other for 5 days so I dont think I am the one to ask!
But if you do have a c section and you have a mobile epi and arent put to sleep you can go and see them after an hr or so once it has slightly worn off! But dont quote me on it as i was put to sleep for my section xx

I am only 13 weeks, so not given birth yet, but I was really worried they would try and make me have a CS, which I really didn't want.

The consultant yesterday said as long as the presenting baby is head down and no other complications I can certainly try for a natural birth, particularly as I have already had three very straightforward and quick labours and births. I realise things might not go to plan, so am trying to come to terms with that, I really don't want a CS.

I would still keep your options open because if you needed one you would be really dissapointed in the end x

I know I may have no choice, and infact it is probably likely, but I will be disappointed if I do end up having one, that won't change.

It will also not be practical as I have three other children to care for and my husband is going away a couple of weeks after the babies are due, so if I hold onto them until then, I will be mananging on my own. We have no family nearby at all.

However, I do appreciate that the most important thing is the babies being OK and arriving safely. it won't stop me being fed up about it though!

Yeah I suppose you do have a point. I dont have any other children so I dont have that to worry about.. Hopefully you can have a natural delivery but i wouldnt let it get you too bad I was up and moving after a day x

My doctor said that if they are not in the right position between 36-37wks, we will do a c-section...but seems if they (or at least if A) is head down then, they will let me go naturally. I had DD naturally at 38 wks, so I am ok with the natural, but also am totally up for a c-section if need be. I just worry about the extra recovery time and being able to hold the babies. I don't want to be a burden on the rest of my family while we are home the first week!!!

Yeah they will manipulate baby b to move into position but its baby a that has to be head down.
at 18 weeks Chloe was head down and Jaycee was head down from 28 weeks.. all the time in between she was transverse, hence why i didnt get much feel with movement x
