Got some alarming news at my scan. First the good news. Both babies are perfect size and perfect weights. I got a cute 3D scan of the girl. The boy'sw back was facing us so no 3D on him. Now the bad news. The scan showed an anomaly on the girl's heart. There might be a hole between the atria (top) chambers of her heart. We are being referred to a fetal cardiologist for a more detailed scan in a couple weeks.
She looks beautiful Fingers crossed that it's not too bad... a lot of these things can be sorted as routine procedures as soon as they are born. Scarey I know, but definitely worth holding on to
I know it's not quite as bad, but Jasper's got to have an op on a hernia on Friday. It's under general and I'm soooo scared
lovely pic. i had to see the fetal cardiologist when i was pg but it was just routine, she said heart defects/problems are common in multiple pregnancies, im not sure why. i hope it all goes ok when you see her hun
I saw the fetal cardiologist on Friday. She was in a very bad position. The parts that the doctor was able to see was normal. There was a section he still wants to check which he said we have a low probability of being abnormal. I will rescan in 4 weeks.
I had my (approx) 20 week scan the day before my wedding and they found a possible defect with one of the boys hearts. I also had to go back a few weeks later to see a specialist and all seemed ok from what they could tell. The consultant did say that if anything was wrong with his heart, it would be minor and hence treatable as nothing major showed on the scan.
He was born and all seems well with him still.
I know how you must be worrying as i've been there x
