| For the most part identical twins are just a random thing. And fraternal come from you not your OH as it's just caused by the release of 2 eggs. | | | | Status: Offline

| I found out about a week ago from my grandmother, that twins run on our side of the family, and skip a generation... which means I am it lol.
DH has one set of twins on his side of the family, his cousins.
Does this mean we will be very likely to have twins or only a small chance? | | | | Status: Offline

| I know they say that twins skip a generation but my Grandmother was one of twins, she had twins and one of my cousins has just had a scan to confirm that she is having twins!! OH and I were talking about the chances of us having twins the other day, and he said that he would really love us to. He was so excited when he was talking about it, it was really sweet. I'd love it too, so fingers crossed!! | | | | Status: Offline

| My great grandmother had twins ( mothers side), I was a twin though the other one didnt make it.
Its all to do with the womans side, releasing two or more eggs can run in families but again only on the womans side. Men have no control lol over twins he releases loads of sperm regardless of one egg ready or two.
So if your OH's family have twins it won't affect you. But again like the other girls said identical twins ( one egg splits) is completely random and no one has a higher chance of having identical twins that anyone else.
