Thanks for all your replies on this ladies i really appreciate it, i have spoken to the teacher and have told them i want them kept together as i feel they will just worry about each other the whole time otherwise. They are still trying to convince me to seperate them but i am sticking by my guns on this as when i mentioned it to them the one twin (tyler ) freaked out said he was not going to school and he cried and got really upset by the whole thing and said please stop talking about this your making me cry .

It interseting to here from you twins as its hard to know whether your dong right by them long term , but you have made me feel i am doing the right thing.

i will keep you all posted and thanks again so much for all your replies xxxx

Hi
I have twin daughters who are nearly 12. I kept them together until they moved to a new primary school when they were 7. I asked them if they wanted to be together and they both wanted to be in different classes. This worked out fantastically for them as they had their own friends and weren't being compared to each other. They are now at high school and are still in different classes.

It worked well for them and me but go with your instincts. You know your twins better than anyone else.

Hippy xx

Hi, I am a former elementary teacher of 13 years and a mother of twins. I really think it depends on the set of twins. For some it would be overwhelming and cause a great deal of separation anxiety, while others it really helps develop their own sense of personality and self esteem especially when one twin depends on the other to answer and do things for them.
At the Pre-school where the girls currently attend there are 5 sets of twins and 3 sets are separated. The parents who separated the twins felt it really helped build confidence in their children.

I think Pre-school and Pre-K it should be determined individually what is best for them but in Kindergarten they should be separated if they have had prior school experience.

I'm not a twin but there were identical twins in my year in primary and secondary school, who were in separate forms but in the same house and that seemed to work out really really well

that being said i'm not sure how many schools still do the house system
