Here's my diary. We're just about to start our first IVF cycle. I started this diary a little while back somewhere else, but here's it from now...

Having a great weekend so far. Loads of people showed up to community day yesterday. Hoping as many come today too.

Got chatting with a bloke I've known for a couple of years, probably in his mid-50s. He was telling me about his children and it emerged that they were adopted. So we got talking about adoption and how they went through it because IVF wasn't an option back then. He was really positive about his experiences and it made me feel better than I have previously about the idea, if we decide to take that route one day.

Went to see Robbie last night. As brilliant as ever, lots of bouncing done by me and OH.

Where are you in your IVF treatment now Helen?

Waiting for AF to appear... blummin bad time to get a loooooong 37 day cycle, I can tell you. Hopefully AF will appear on Wed so can start with first injection.

First? What happens do you have to take this injection all through the next month?

What is it? - You mentioned being hormonal

It's something called Prostap. Thankfully this is a one off injection that lasts 5 weeks. It's essentially to shut down anything that happens naturally and put you through the menopause.....yup....with all it's lovely symptoms....hot flushes, night sweats, irrational behaviour, emotional weirdness.... BRING IT ON!!!

Then there are other injections after that to stimulate your ovaries to get you to produce loads of eggs. Not thinking that far ahead just yet though....
