Just wrote the cheque for the embryo storage charge for the next 12 months. That's another £250 which actually I am thrilled to be paying.

Total spent so far........ £4854.08

That doesn't include the small fortune that we've forked out for hospital car parks!

Day 44 of IVF Cycle
13 days since Embryo Transfer
4 days to PG test

The money is a scary amount when you add it up, isn't it? TBH though if I had the money, I'd pay 100 times that for this. It just isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. I'd like to be spending it on having time at home with a new born or reducing my hours so sometimes I get really frustrated that we have to pay so much for IVF. The recommendation is for 3 goes on the NHS, but our PCT only pays for one and the wait is 3 years. Such a postcode lottery.

We have an appointment with our GP this evening. This is the doc who wrote to our PCT to see if we could get funding for drugs on the NHS even if they wouldn't pay for the full cycle. They said No quite clearly, but he wants to see us again anyway. We're not quite sure what for. :

OH's Mum is making great progress. She's off the ventilator and even had jelly and icecream yesterday. :cheer: She may even get off intensive care in the next couple of days. She got the wrong end of the stick and thought it meant she was going home. OH had shaken off enough of his cold last night to be able to see her and he was really happy when he got home.

Been and bought a couple more prezzies for my forthcoming neice or nephew. My brother's baby is due 17th December, so it'll probably be Xmas when he/she arrives. Went into Mamas and Papas and had to wait while the shop assistant went off and got what I wanted. There was a new Dad in there buying half the shop and what seemed like hundreds of pregnant bumps wandering around. Started to feel as though I had bitten off more than I could chew. I keep expecting someone to shout at the top of their voice "YOU THERE!!! YOU DON'T BELONG IN HERE!!!". Stupid, I know, but sometimes even going round Sainsburys is too much.

Day 45 of IVF Cycle
14 days since Embryo Transfer
3 days to PG test

Went to see the GP last night. Sat waiting outside with OH and I said to him, I bet he says "what can I do for you?" when we go in. We laughed cos GP had asked us to go in to discuss funding.

Went in. GP says "what can I do for you?". Seems his message to receptionist was just to book us in if we wanted to talk about it. Anyway answer on funding is still a definite no. He was lovely though and asked how I was since being signed off and after OH's parents. Said that if I needed to I can extend my doctors note just by ringing up and there wouldn't be a problem. That was a relief actually, just to know I can if I need to.

OH's Mum is still on the mend. They had her out of bed for a few hours yesterday and she ate some more. Doesn't look like she'll get off intensive care just yet as her oxygen levels aren't quite right. At least things are looking a lot brighter. OH spoke to his Dad last night who had been to see horrid younger brother of OH and given him what for about not coming straight across when he heard about his Mum. I hate the fall out, but he was obviously not wanting to say anything while things were still a bit worrying with OH Mum. He's had it from everyside of the family now, hopefully he's got the message.

Last two nights, I've woken up thinking about Monday. I keep playing through both possibilities in my mind and it's keeping me awake. I'm terrified of PG tests. I've never had a positive and so they just symbolise misery and dashed hopes for me. I really really hope Monday changes that.
