Cool

The TTC Journey of Nicnac

Hi to anyone who dropped by to read my journal.

Like most out there I decided after reading everyone else journals that starting one of my own may
a) keep track and make sense of it all
b) help my meet some nice people who don't think I have OCD about TTC
c) keep me sane!!

So, details.......
My name's Nic, I'm 33 (just), my OH is 31. We've been together for 3 yrs and TTC for 12 months. Well I say 12 months (I stoppped taking the pill), but due to work constraints (working away, working too hard), we haven't been doing the BD every month at the right times

I was beginning to loose hope and having dark thoughts about never getting to be Fab Mummy, and was almost resigning my self to Fab Aunty, when I found BnB.
Just being able to see that there are others out there that are in the same position has really helped.

So today is CD8 and I'm generally a 29 day kinda girl! So will BD'ing for England over the weekend and a bit beyond!!

I check CP almost on a daily basis, keep track of VD (please can someone tell me there's a better acronym out there for the eggwhites I crave for?!?!). The only thing I haven't started doing is the BBT, but seeing the responses on BnB it seems to be a good idea. (Off to the chemist for me this afternoon then!)

So should anyone find my little journal, any advice, help or general sweetness and luck would be very much appreciated.

And abundance of TTC luck for all you lovely ladies out there too.

Up n Down Day

BnB Day 2
CD9

Ordered my BBT last night. Scoured ebay and should be winging its way soon. Bit worried as it has bleep indicator when temp is reached, which will thrill OH no end at 6.30am! Must see if switches off!

Checked CP twice today and shock of shocks it hasn't moved in two hours. Found myself looking longingly at the Mother & Baby mags in supermarket at lunchtime. Scuttled away feeling a bit of a fraud and moved on to look for the freebies in the fashion mags instead and consoled myself with a double choc muffin! Feeling a little obsessed today which usually indicates the onset of hormone central!

Should be getting excited about the next few days as heading to fertile times and it coincides with a weekend (no work constraints - yea!), but then disaster strikes!

OH has just announced we've been invited to London this weekend and he really wants to go. He's just got a new job and wants to celebrate with BM who lives down the big smoke. Don't get me wrong I'm well chuffed for the job, it's amazing opportunity and achievement for him.....but this weekend? Tried to smile without showing my distinct lack of excitement of trying to seduce him on a futon with his BM snoring next door.

To compound my misery today, builders still haven't finished and this could mean a possible two further weeks with my mother. I should explain..... Our TTC'ing has hit difficult times recent weeks as some work on the house which was supposed to take four weeks has now been extended. They say a week, I think more like two. Let me tell you, BD'ing in your old bed with your mother in the next room is not condusive to romance and happy positive thoughts.

Trying to abstain for next day or two on the BD'ing front with a hope of storing some of the little swimmers up for the weekend, not sure if that's how it works, but general thought if there's more of them, more bulk will push them forward! OMG am I really losing my mind!

Am really pleased that I found BnB. I'm surprised how cathartic it is to be able to rant about this and be able to put it all down. Fingers crossed I can look back at it all when finally a BFP comes along and smile. It's also really good to know that I'm surrounded by people who feel the same way, and I'm not being judged or pitied by the people who may read this.

So feel better now, I'm off to Google the effects of Milk thistle and spearmint on fertility, (just to check for anything negative), before I sit down with my cleansing herb tea! See..the madness is never far away!!

Angry

Big O on it's way!!!!!!!!

BnB day 3
CD10!

Woke up this morning and wanted to cry...which is good, cos O's on the way, but bad because I just feel like the unsexiest thing alive, and who would want to BD with me! Oh hormones are a pain!

Checked CP & CM this morning. A bit higher, bit softer, and just a hint of the stretchy stuff...so all moving in right direction.

Still no news on the builders, and still at my Ma's, and still going away for the weekend (maybe that's why the miserbale hormones have got me today?)

BBT hasn't turned up yet, and OH wants us to stay away from the house as he thinks we distract the builders and this way we can then see a definite improvement when we look on Friday. Not sure if I can wait that long for the BBT....may have to be alittle sneaky and grab the post without looking at the work.

Really hoping that the dust works this month, and I can just catch (holding hands together and staring to the sky)

Well must get back to work, back later

a) the builders hard at work...and I can see improvements
b) Digi thermometer has arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let the BBT charting begin

I know it doesn't really count, but just to test it out...I'm 36.75 deg c!!
(Took three attempts - bloomin builders!!)

Can't wait to start properly tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

Back soon

Smile

Here we go, bring on the O!!

CD11

Hoed to start using BBT this morning, but completely forgot to take it to bed and when I woke up at 6.30am I'd have had to go downstairs to collect, and figured that would mess up my reading. Am into my cycle now so thought I might leave it this month.

Got a BD this morning before work, which I really wasn't expecting, but very pleasantly surprised. Though not as surprised as the cleaning lady was

Was thinking I may have to put this months attempts on hold with everything going on (builders, weekends away etc), and was even penning my "not this month, but can't wait to hear all your news" kinda thread in my head...when Fab OH came a calling!! Let's hope we/he can keep it up all weekend (excuse the pun!)

Have been out in car most day and have started feeling the familiar aches and twinges..couldn't help smiling...which is about the only time I smile at aches & pains!!! Here comes the Big O!!!

Don't know if it's this place or all the positive things I read on here, but just really really really want a BFP this month. A year has been a long long time. Too many ups, downs, late AF's....need my LO soooooon!!

Hi NicNac. Maybe these sneaky BDs at your Mum's will be what does the trick for you!!
By the way: what was the issue with Milk Thistle? I have it in my tea every morning. Panicking now that I might have caused my MC with it.

Sorry hon, didn't mean to alarm...I just get a bit over sensitive to these things and I heard stuff about certain fruit teas (bit of a nut for them and something had to replace my beloved Latte's). I was about to have a "Cleanse" type tea when I read the ingredients and thought I'd better check.

I googled milk thistle and effects on fertility and there was a site which stated that it can have an estrogen like effect. And wasn't great for pregnant or nursing mothers. Saying that, after you left your post I kind of panicked, that I might be panicking you, so have just doubled checked my sources..and yes, it does say no for PG ladies....but there's another site that says it can/has been used for women with endometriosis.

I looked at www.goldbamboo.com and then followed some links from there.

Please don't think that the milk thistle had any effects on your mc, but maybe for a more peaceful mind try another tea (unless of course the endo)

Sorry again hon, speak soon

Don't worry love. I googled it myself. You find conflicting things about all this stuff. Half the stuff I found says it is good for fertility and half says it is not. Typical. We can't win can we. I also replaced caffeine with all the herbal stuff but then you start to read about herbs too! Honestly if we took note of everything we read we'd probably just be living on a diet of folic acid tablets!!!
