Hi! My name is April and I am 29 years old. In November, I will turn 30 and I am hoping for nothing more than a bulbous belly by then.

Here is my story.

I met hubby in 1997. In the year prior to our meeting, I was stupidly involved in an abusive relationship. This relationship resulted in a hard kick to the abdomen. The kick caused a tear of my right tube away from my uterus. My left tube only releases an egg every 3-6 months. Well, after soem follow up visits, the doctor who performed surgery on my tube said it looked like eggs would pass and eventually I would regain use of the tube and overy.

I was on BC pills to regulate my period as it was, but in 2002 I collapsed. I was having an ectopic pregnancy in the bad tube. It was 8 wks along and the size of a grape. The tube was badly damamged and deamed unrepairable.

In 2005 DH and I married and went without protection since. We had no luck conceiving for 2 years, but in February 2007, we conceived!!! It gave me so much hope that we would be able to have a child of our own that I was so excited!

Sadly, it resulted in a miscarriage. So here I am, over a year later, still hoping for my miracle.

Well, I filled out all my forms to start "Infertility Treatment" so I am gonna use this journal as to log my progress and news.
Here is what will happen according to this packet of info I received

Step one: Read all info in the packet, fill out all forms, and mail to doctor CHECK

Step two: Infertility Appointment #1
Set of routine tests, baseline lab work (already had petuitary and thyroid test - both normal)
begin charting and using OPK to determine if/when ovulation is occuring (started charting on fertilityfriend and
using OPKs in preperation)
DH's sperm will be tested.

Step three: Infertility appointment #2
Discussion of lab results
HSG test

Step four: Discussion of HSG results
Treatment plan established.


Completed Tests
Component : PROLACTIN
Your Value : 9.8
Standard Range : 3.0-18.6 NG/ML


Component : TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone)

Mother's Day 2008.

So, it was Mother's Day really that brought me back here to Baby and Bump. I am not a terribly religious person, but in trying times like these, I really don't think a prayer or ten could hurt. As my sister in laws opened their mother's day gifts from my mother in law, I couldn't ignore the tiny pangs in my gut. But in a surprising twist, there was a gift bad with my name on it!

Inside was a prayer card and a charmed necklace.



I immediately felt hope, a strong urge I haven't felt since our last attempts came up empty. So, this prayer is for myself, and also for all you out there needing some extra prayers sent your way.

I was also given the St Gerard prayer a while ago - i think it helps you to focus when you're feeling down and I'd actually like to thank you for posting it and reminding me!

Oh, you're welcome! I agree with the helping focus part. I needed something to get me out of the funk and back in the mood, and I love my mother in law that much more for thinking of me on Mother's Day even though I am not a mother yet

Day One.

I'm calling today day one, because about 100$ and 8 pee sticks later, I think i'm finally conviced I am *currently* not pregnant. I started to get a tad weepy yesterday when I realized that it just wasn't going to happen this month like I wanted and when I laid my head on my pillow I had a thought that shot me straight up in bed.

I have no idea WHEN/IF I ovulated yet, so it's not over yet. (irregular cycles keep me pretty much guessing since I stopped charting in Feb) You know what I did? I got up, brushed my teeth, dabbed a bit of scent on my neck, crawled back in bed and BD!!! I talked to his spremies in my head for 30 minutes after, coaxed them into going upstream... talked to my ovary... begged it to pop an egg out right that second... clutched my St. Gerard necklace and fell asleep with images of conception in my head.

I am calling today Day One Post Ovulation with the hopes that I did just that last night. I set a target test date (given that AF doesn't decide to come spoil my fun before then) of Day Ten Post Ovulation.

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008. Ironically, that is the first day of DH and I's vacation. We set that date a while back as a week we would take off from work, but not go any where, just relax with each other, get some things done around the house.

It almost feels like fate to fall on that particular date, and it also gives me something to look foward to.

I would really encourage you to chart (try ovusoft,fertilityfriend,mymonthlycycles, etc.)- at least that way you can not be in the dark about where you are in your cycle. Charting is most helpful for folks with an irregular cycle- for folks with a regular cycle it's more of a confirmation than anything else.

Yes, I decided to start charting again as soon as i get my AF. I charted all last year, but my New Years resolution was to back off the TTC frenzy because I was making myself sick with anxiety and depression after all the failed attempts. Mother's Day was when I decided that I wanted to try whole heartidly again, but I haven't had a cycle to chart from since then. Last cycle was in February.
