Insomnimama's journal

Good morning everyone. Couldn't sleep (see name), have been lurking around a couple of days since I believe I have happened upon the funniest ttc board in the interwebs, so I thought I'd join in.

This is my first month ttc #2- #1 was quite the surprise 5 years ago, but we're finally in a position to give him a sibling.

For selfish reasons I hope my stay is short, though with a bunch of hilarious ladies like a few of you I wouldn't mind staying around for a bit... Let's hope all of our stays are cut short this month & we can meet again in the knocked up board.

Am on CD4, usually have a 30d cycle but occasionally I'll have one that's 28d just for shits and giggles.

So... let's see what happens. Wish me luck! (No baby dust please, am terrible housecleaner, have allergies, etc.)

I've been thinking about the difference between my first pregnancy (unexpected) and this "trying for #2" business.

Being that I was 22 and in the middle of my undergraduate degree (and half a continent away from my baby's father) for #1, it felt something like being pushed out of an airplane and having to sort out how to make it to the ground safely. The first instinct is to panic, but pretty quickly you figure out that continuing panicking will not be helpful to your current predicament. You next try to figure out what kind of tools you have, like maybe a parachute, or a handglider, or SOMETHING. The third thing you do is look around and see if maybe there is someone in a nearby airplane who could throw you something of use, and if there is perhaps someone waiting on the ground with a big net (you think, hopefully). The final step in this freefall is to realize that you are going down anyway, you've used all the tools at your disposal and enlisted all available help, you'll probably be okay and you might as well enjoy the view on the way down.

Five years later, my life feels very (wonderfully) normal. This is, after all, about the time & phase of preparedness that I intended to be when I had my (then hypothetical) FIRST child. I am only 27, but there is a clock ticking. But it isn't my clock; it's my son's.

He's the one who's getting older, and I am the one who is hoping that (despite the age gap) the love will flow just as readily between the two.

I have a plan, something to say to my children, if and when the second shows up: Each of you is my gift to the other.

And that, really, is the whole point of this little excercise...

CD7, still bored.
My problem is that I almost always O on CD 19, so it makes for a long wait. Temps have settled down from around 36.3 during to 36.2ish post-AF. Have started Robitussen 1x daily; will increase to 2x daily from CD10 and to 3x daily from CD15. Am trying to drink more water as well.

Yeah, you can -- don't have to be a V.I.P member. Just go to 'Home page setup' and set your options there -- then copy the address for your home page onto your siggy.
