Although this is our first month officially ttc, I have been charting temps, checking CM & CP since I had my IUD removed about 6 mos ago (started bleeding all month long, and sure nuff, t'was the nasty pokey copper thing in my ute). I had agreed to avoid until this month (though didn't *really* want to), and was duly responsible, diligent about checking all the signs, etc. Turns out my CP is totally unreliable, and where it would dutifully be low, hard, & closed immediately after O, it would migrate up to be high & somewhat softer towards the end of my cycle. This would lead me through the dizzying maze of "what if I am" "surely I'm not" "but I could be" "but I've promised not to yet & have done everything to prevent" ... basically a bit of a nutcase for a good week & a half of a few of those months...
All this to say- MY CP is not all that reliable- hope yours is more well-behaved & gives you correct info.
I only started checking my CP half way through last cycle, so it wasn't really enough to tell whether it is behaving or not!! I will give it a thorough examination this month but if it seems too confusing I'm not sure if I'll persevere with charting the CP, but I do find I get a much better picture of my CM that way so I'll carry on having a probe anyways
Good luck to you in your first month TTC - and have some beginner's luck too

Hiya Yaya!! I plan to start as soon as AF has bgrd off. I am hoping that will be Tuesday- i get about 4 days of really light almost nothing AF at the end, which always makes me think oh, she's gone, then nope, she's still lurking.
No real master plans -except more of the same! I'm gonna start taking my temps more accurately with my new BBT thermometer which I think is sitting in the post office right now, and I'm gonna cut out peas.
You never know- I'm not fussed about them, so it's no hardship!
Hiya!
Thought I'd wander over to your journal for a peek! (Thanks for confirming that I'm not selfish and stupid for setting deadlines/milestones for conceiving... I feel less like an ungrateful mother to be!)
My heart sunk when I read that little BBC piece about soy beans. OH NO... for the last several months I've been religiously drinking a cup of calcium-fortified soy milk a day to keep up my calcium intake. Milk makes me gassy so now I'm not sure what to turn to to get my calcium.
