You are just gonna have a delayed ov - I know it. You will be synchronised with me again soon and so we'll get our bfps together!

Seriously though, the way I understand it is that those take on average about 3 hours to travel up your plumbing. I have read that the fastest ones which have been training in the Olympic Pool can do it in 45 minutes, whilst the slower ones can take up to 12 hours. May be that's where the 12 hours comes from? I haven't read anything about them having to sit around before they become able to penetrate the egg. But they can sit and wait if the egg isn't ready - I think that's what's important. They can live up to 3 days (sometimes up to 5 if they have been working out down the gym), so you can get jiggy up to 5 days before ov to be in with a chance. The eggy lives up to about 12 hours (some say 24) so that gives you another day. They say it's more important to BD in the 3 days leading up to ov and the day of ov itself, and why not the next day too just to be on the safe side So, in conclusion - I dunno but I don't think it matters. I will do a bit of googling.... I got my Zita West book today too so there might be something in there - will let you know!

hmmm i think my oh was snoozing when they handed out dancing genes!! is the zita west book good then? the whole sperm thing is just so confusing isn't it? IF i ov atall this month then i think it would've been last thursday - had ewcm wednesday thursday (loads on thursday) and we did it Tues, wednesday, thurs and fri! But because we hadnt done it for the whole month () i am thinking that most of the sperm would've been a bit dazed and probably a bit worse for wear having been cooped out in there for all that time. not sure if this is true or not - but i remember when oh had his sperm test done we couldn't do it for the couple of days before hand to make sure they were ok!
How was your weekend? hope you caught that eggy chick.

Oh the Zita West book is just fantastic! I have just finished it - there's so much useful stuff in there. I don't really go in for the Chinese Medicine stuff, but there could be something in it.Apart from that it's got loads about how to assess your own fertility, how to improve it through diet, what supplemetns are useful, what problems can occur and just about everything else! (It's called Guide to Getting Pregnant). I just like its really positive approach, that most couples can conceive naturally if they just start focussing more on their diet, stress levels and so on, and that even small changes can have a positive effect!

I am going to make a few small changes which should result in the whole family being healthier! Gonna stop using sweetners (aspartame converts to formaldehyde in your body), chewing gum (same), drink still mineral water instead of fizzy (has much more minerals), buy my fruit and veg at the market rather than the supermarket (fresher, more antioxidants, less chemicals), cut out alcohol altogether from 5 days before ovulation, buy fewer ready-processed foods and only wholemeal bread.

The idea is that if your body is healthier, it works more efficiently, so your hormones become more balanced and that increases your fertility. Even if it doesn't work I'm gonna feel great

Tried out the Preseed last night. TBH I couldnt' tell any difference, so may be I'll save it for those days when i feel a bit dry/tender but we should be bding. Quite relieved in a way that it didn't produce stunning effects, as I would probably end up addicted to the darned stuff!

I read a book very similar when we were trying for ds. It was called a natural guide to infertility. It was fantastic. said in there about sweetners - and said to have butter rather than marg. basically anything classed as "low fat" was bad because of all the additives they put in there to try and make it taste the same! also said not to use micro wave and to eat mainly fresh stuff. Easier said than done - but we stuck to what was feesible. We got pg the month after - whether the book had anything to do with it i will never know. Sometimes having something else to focus on helps I guess!
I am definitiely addicted to preseed- have had to leave it in the cupboard downstairs now as it is so expensive i am not wasting it on bding towards the end of the month!!! LOL!!

Yeah I tried the switch to butter too, but I don't like the taste much so switched back. I'm not going to make any changes that I don't actually like - can't see the point! I'm quite a healthy person anyway - eat lots of fruit and fibre, never smoked, never had a weight problem, (lucky genes I think!) and i don't have a sweet tooth, which helps! You're right in that it does give you something else to think about! but actually walking round the supermarket the other day I though, god there is sooooo much crap in here! I have to be extra vigilant because all the ingredients are in bulgarian and it's easy to feel too lazy to try to work them out
