I tested again at lunch time...

I have a theory (here she goes again...) What if it was Ov last Sunday? I said that I was still doing Ov tests as I hadn't actually had a dark line yet on my OPK's and this is what first made me think I was pg cause I got a dark line last Sat night followed by a really strong positive on the Sunday after the positive PG test. (I'd read somewhere that if you are pg you can get a positive on OPK's and that's what made me do a pg test in the first place)

So just supposing I was actually ov'ing that day, on CD21, 7 days later than normal and the pg tests I did where just faulty, It's not unherd of, and maybe I'm late now cause I'm having a super long cycle?

Speculation anyone? (it's such a confusing cycle!) or am I just clutching at straws?!

i think i have read somewhere that hcg and lh are almost identical in their make up - however, the 2 tests are different in that the opk looks for lh but the make up of the test will also detect hcg. The hcg test will only look for hcg - not both. if that makes sense - i don;t think it does but i am sure it explains it a bit better on the peeonastick web site. something to do with them being twins but one twin wears a hat - or something like that! so the lh looks for the twins but the hcg looks for the hat!!! sorry if i am confusing you even more hun.

Yes, this is what I read too. I'm just saying that suppose the pg test was a dud and the Ov test was right and I was acctually Ov'ing last week and that's why I'm late now with on hpt's cause I'm having a long cycle?!

ahh sorry hun. I get you now. why does everything have to be so confusing!! I ov'd late last month - i think our bodies just like it when we have no clue what is going on!!
hopefully you will get some answers soon hun - do you not get ov pains or anything?


PS - i didn't get my BFp with my first until i was 6 weeks pg!! don't lose hope chick.

Ermmm, I can't say that I have ever felt Ov pains. I have looked out for them but never felt anything yet but I know that not everyone get's them.

Well, whatever is going on with my cycles this time it definatley has me confused that's for sure!!!

i get really bad cramping just before i get ewcm usually - although this month it has been the other way around. had egg white last week and the af cramps have started today. it is v strange. why can't our bodies just behave themselves and then we would know where we are up to! this bloody ttc is hard enough!!
when would af normally have been due? are you officially late now? xx

af should have come yesterday. When I was on BCP's I used to get af on exactly the same time every time it was due. It was on the Thursday night after I stopped taking it for my break.

Since giving up BCP's af has arrived each time on the Sunday whilst I have still been in bed (about 9:30 am each time) but yesterday whilst I was expecting to show she didn't turn up. And still nothing today and so far I have done 3 HPT's and all

That's why I started wondering about the late Ov theory

I have sore (.) (.) (lol) but no af cramps (normally I would have cramping for 2 to 3 days before af)

I have no idea what's going on!!!

how long have you been off bcp hun? could it be that it is finally coming out of your system so this month will be a funny cycle and next month you will go back to normal? maybe test again in a couple of days - your hormone levels might just be too low for it to show up on a hpt?
really hoping this is leading towards a for you hun.
