Jessica's TTC Journal

Hi all Im mega new to all this so will probably sound daft! Im am 29 and my husband is 32, we have been together for 12 years. We have a 9...yes 9 year old wonderful son and have decided after all these years that its about time for number 2!
Being young rabbits all those years ago we didnt plan anything just if i got pregnant then great...this time id like to plan things properly but i havent a clue whats happening with my body!?
We have been trying since November, each month im sure its the month then i get upset when i find the cramps and the sore boobs arent due to a small bun in the ovenI look on the net and search for clues on how to track my best days but all seem different!?
My cycles seem to be between 31 and 43days which i find really frustrating! Can someone please help!!!!???I havent a clue what the lingo means on here either! My feb cycle started on 5th of march which had lasted 42 days...so when would my best days be?? Sorry if i sound like a donut! haha!

welcome to B&B

Here's the lingo....

BabyandBump Lingo & Abbreviations

Irregular periods are very frustrating!! Not sure what the best thing to do in terms of working out your best days. I'd start by keeping track of your days in a diary perhaps and watching your CM and if you can manage it BD every other day after AF leaves until you have a better idea of where your cycles are at.

Good Luck!

Hi hun

I would definitely recommend FF. Monitoring your temp each morning is probably the most reliable way to find out if you've ovulated, i personally cant do it lol but i know its worked for alot of people.

Good luck ttc and hope you get your BFP soon

xx

Hey Jessica, welcome on board! I'm sure you'll find this site really useful. we all know what its like to get lost in the lingo, I'm sure you'll catch on to the most used abbreviations really quickly.

That will be a bit of a gap between your kids - I think its excellent, I'm 19 - yes 19! - years older than my only brother and I love him to bits. Best of luck to you and loo forward chatting to you on the site xxx

Hello Jessica,

I'm attracted to your name because it was the name of my wedding dress.

Anyway, just to say welcome and you will very quickly find that this place is absolutely full of wonderful people who will soon become friends. I have been ttc with DH for 4 cycles now and the last 3 of which I have kept a chart with Fertility Friend and have found this the most helpful thing of all. It has taught me so much about my body that I didn't know and can be fun to look back on and see what happened and when. It won't get you pregnant, but it certainly helps pin point when and whether you ovulate and is a really useful tool.

I have also bought loads of cheapie OPK's and HPT's from the internet and use these as well as a rather expensive Clearblue Fertility Monitor (CBFM) which has proved a wonderful 'toy'.

Here's wishing you good luck and sending you some for your journey.
