OH has decided to throw caution to the wind -we're going on a holiday. Hurray! Im to investigate for super cheap deals.. the options are Krakow (i studied there for a year, and its fab and cheap!) Paris- well, what can you say- gorgeous! ( in the voice of Meg Ryan in 'French Kiss')..Jesus X..just realised i havent been there in 22 years!! Yikes, i AM old And the final option is Prag, where Oh went 2 years ago with his students.. Oh what fun i shall have looking this up..had a wee look at it yesterday
I have to also admit- i know there is a theme coming through- that maybe the hols will rub off psoitively on me like they did for Carmen, lol!
Anyway, if its meant to happen it'll happen.. , Omi xxx | Hi there Omi! Finally got round to sneaking a look at your journal! I'm having similar thoughts for next cycle - just going to relax, enjoy my hols and let nature take its course
Have you decided where you're going yet? My DH lived in Prague for a year and I stayed with him a couple of times (b4 we were married!) and it's so lovely. We both lived in Paris for a couple of years and that was awesome too! Haven't been to Krakow but I spent my 30th birthday in Warsaw - I got velly velly drunk and ended up trying to play some Chopin on a piano in a posh restaurant (VERY badly as I was very much inebriated ) so I think I managed to offend any Poles/French who were within earshot!
Looking forward to keeping up with your journal! |

LOL!! Ive been there, babe
No direct flights to Prague from here and Krakow flights were prohibitive in price
Please give me any tips on cheap stuff in Paris, if you have any. We're seeing a friends relative tomorrow night as he goes 5-6 times a year to Paris so we're hoping he can give us some pointers.
Really looking forward to it
Good luck to all this month!! , Omi xxx |

Good luck to all this month!! , Omi xxx | Go to Montmatre in Paris Omi!
I take it you like kitties (like me). There is a cemetary called "Cimitiere Montmatre" and it has literally hundreds of feral cats living there, and they are so lovely. We always take them some fish and stuff to eat. It's very beautiful and quiet (and free afternoon out!!). Me and DH got engaged there.
Also: Montmatre is a lovely area: lots of cheap places to eat and drink.
Latin quarter is also nice.
Have fun!!

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks so much, Niki!!! We're definitely the type of people who'll be walking around soaking up the atmosphere so your advice is right up our street. Everyone goes on about how expensive it is...but it cannot be more expensive than Norway (!) so being sensible about buying food etc and staying away from tourist traps, im sure we will manage just fine! ooh, so exited
Also, decided last night that i shall lose some weight before i go..it'll be hot there (compared to Glasgow ) and i have seriously not bothered about the flab for some time- in short i've let myself go..but i refuse to waddle past slinky parisienne ladies..so food nazi, welcome back, lol!! Im good at this stuff when i bother so there should be a marked difference by the time we go
Its good as i have something to work towards so will give me a goal and steel willpower!!!
Oh, and yes, I love kitties.. |

You're right: Paris does not have to be expensive at all. Montmatre and Pigalle are cheap, and there are other cheap areas too. Just stay clear of the obvious rip off English tourist areas, which is really quite easy to do. To be honest a really cheap way to eat is just to find a supermarket and get bread and cheese and salads and stuff and have a picnic (Bois de Bologne and Parc Monceau are nice for this) or have a hotel picnic in the evening.
Get lots of that nice soft French cheese down you which you won't be able to enjoy once you've got a BFP!!!

I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh, you're so right!!! Cheese me up, baby!! God, honestly, cheese is so my downfall. I blame the Polish in me, not for the cheese love, but for the love of grazing. Its typical to have a smorgosbord style spread when you have celebrations or have people over. And ive grown up with this typical pattern of getting a pickle, some sausage, a piece of bread, tomato, cheese you name it.
Now i'll just get a piece of cheese.. and then some.. and then some- argh!!!
Yes, i had serious probs with the no (good) cheese ban..and the red wine ban, no softboiled eggs..oh, the list goes on when pg..all the good stuff is banned
Too right, enjoy it while you can and i shall!!! but at the mo' im starving.... it cant be helped..when you've indulged for as long as i have the tummy is a greedy bugger and needs to learn restraint- restraint i say!!!
When i was slim it was happy with what it got, so i know it works. So 73 kg's at the mo' that about 11 stone 7..i need to loose 2 stone- good grief! thats a lot of work..but as a slim woman once said to me 'you cant get fat on air', lol!! I still eat healthily just very little...it sucks..wish i was normally slim so could anything and everything...hrmph!
Well, thats me off to the pub to meet other half and then book a hotel when we get home..whoopee!!..oh, and first i need to clean myself up..have done nothing but be on web all day- look a fright and might scare small children and animals- and that wont do
Have a lovely saturday evening ladies!! , Omi xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | So we booked the hotel yesterday. it looks lovely so i hope it doenst turn into a bit of a dissapointment when we get there..but, hey we'll deal with whatever when we get there. We dont plan to be in the room much anyway
Im already salivating at the thought of crusty french bread with french cheese on it..mmmmm , oh, la la!!
Due to my cycles having shortened the cbfm now asks for sticks on cd 6 as opposed to cd 9, which is great news. i expect to ov next weekend, sunday probably, so im now on knicker-watch looking out for the ewcm! Come to mama!!
Oh is so lovely saying all last night that the holiday is perfect idea right now as mortgage is up in december so will probably go up and we'll probably have a baby soon as well, so we'll better go while we can. Gawd, i love it when he talks about us having a baby...cue: melty, gooey-eyes!!
I know its probably only water but i seem to have dropped nearly 2 kgs already if i keep on like this i shall be back to my former glory in no time, or rather by the time we get to gay Paris!!! Where of course i shall be stuffing my face, but i expect that to be offset by the all the walking we'll be doing- or so i hope, LOL!!! Ah, who cares..it'll be great, all of it.
Next af is due 22nd July which is right in the middle of holiday, so one can only hope that a) i dont get but and b) that i'll get some sex in while there, lol!!
Until next time my lovelies.. oh, im also starving so have to sort out food situation and the house is a tip, lol!! , Omi xxx |
