Well having not bothered much with the ttc process this month I've been gong through the temping thing half heartedly. But this morning I got a massive spike from 36.28 yesterday to 36.69 this morning. Which means I probably ovulated yesterday. Rally confusing as I didn't expect to ovulate till tomorrow...

Well DH and said our goodbyes before he left on CD 9 (if you know what I mean!!) so now I'm in limbo wondering if I'm in the tww and if there is a possibility for this month after all.....

Even more confusion
last month I got no change in CM at all. Even though I took EPO. So I was a bit worried but decided not to panic to much.
On the afternoon in CD 9 I had a clear stretchy discharge when i went to the loo (sorry tmi) and I wondered if it was this miraculous EWCM everyone thinks about. I had to go and ask DH if this 'liquid' might just be leftovers from the night before's !!

So

• was it ewcm?
• Did I O on CD 11? and not 13 as expected?
• if so would BD on CD9 be enough to catch the egg?
• Am I now in the tww?????

Thank Molly - at least I know I'm not the only one who doesn't know these things and it actually makes me feel better! I'm thinking about a CBFM thanks to all these girls who make it sound like absolutely the best things since sliced bread.... and I like sliced bread!!!

dont feel bad for thinking you dont know these things! I was lucky as someone once explained cm to me eon's ago when i was young and innocent, so ive always known what to look for

so to your questions, i shall take a stab, ok..

was it ewcm?

Its the cm you get right before you ovulate to help with the spermies, but you already knew that.. its clear and slippery, hence the name eggwhite.. i often feel a bit wet, yes here comes the tmi, and i can see it when i wipe.. its more gel-like than semen in that semen dries a lot quicker if you put it between fingers, and the ewcm doesnt dissolve in water like semen. Its stringy/tacky and can be pulled between fingers.

Although you have cm at other times it's usually not clear, not tacky, rather chalky and does dry quickly. I like to say with ewcm you have to really wipe to get dry, so to speak..whereas the other stuff is easily wiped.

I cannot say babe, but its very possible..ive ov on slightly different dates and in fact i think its to be expected..a day or 2 out is normal i would say...

sperm can live for several days, so yes it is possible!

I really think it was EWCM on CD9 then and I did ovulate on CD11.

And here was me all settled in for a tww knowing that I didn't have a chance! Now I'm definately in the tww madness. Oh god, here goes that rollercoaster again...

God, i wish i was psychic..ok, im very tuned into things and have a very strong intuition but its crap on oneself as one tends to go a bit loopy and listen to hope as opposed to reality..plus damned pg shows just like af..grrr

i just use opks and hope for the best!
i have also been taking agnus castus- it helps you ovulate you take it from cycle day one to first sign of LHsurge (opks)

i really really want a CBFM but they are just so expensive, they do seem to work though so i suppose they are worth the money!
