Note to self...my ultrasound is to see if I am going to ovulate.

The Post-Coital Test is this:

The Post Coital Test involves a sampling of your cervical mucus between four to ten hours after you and your partner have intercourse, to determine whether the mucus in your cervix is "hostile" to is sperm.

With this particular test - timing is everything, since only mucus during your ovulation period isn't usually deemed hostile. This, of course, involves a visit to your physician so a sample of your mucus can be taken and be examined for the evidence of live sperm.

If you are using an ovulation predictor kit, this kit will be the determining factor as to when you will have intercourse. Remember, to have sex that MORNING ,and do not use any lubricants, douche - or bathe (a shower is acceptable) and be sure and contact your physician to schedule a time to come in after intercourse.

Once in the doctors office, you will be examined with a spectulum with a small amount of cervical mucus being withdrawn from your cervix. This will then be examined under a microscope and the doctor will be looking for some of the following characteristics:

1. Ferning - When the cervical mucus dries on a microscope slide, it should take on the appearance of ferns. This assures that the mucus has been exposed to adequate levels of estrogen without any exposure to progesterone. In other words, that the timing is correct.

2. Amount - Cervical mucus production normally increases dramatically just prior to ovulation.

3. Clarity - It should be very clear, almost watery.

4. Cellularity - There should be relatively few cells present, other than sperm.

5. Spinnbarkeit - This is the stretchiness of the cervical mucus. It should be almost elastic and may stretch 10 cms or more.

My CM has now went back to creamy and all my pains and twinges have left the building by like saturday, but still had some cramping yesterday, and soz TMI i am farting DH out of the house, and my tummy actually is very sensitive.

Actually, the funny thing is that I am really calm about my appointment tomorrow. Even with little to no CM, I am not stressed. I am taking the zen approach. Whatever happens, happens. If I did not O, I will go from there. If I do O, yay! It is all good. I will not become emo over it anymore. LOL

I love that the zen approach, never tried that one.

My approach this month is making as if im not bothered at all, what happens happens and DH thinks im losing the plot.

Just so confused as im not having my CD21 bloods done tomorrow, and i am peing myself to death but that can be all the nice milk capacinnos im drinking at work, i have had 4 already "decaf" if i may add.

But im also glad you aren't stressing out, i have read many a times before that some of the girls get so stressed out that nothing works according to plans, so RELAX, MEDITATE, have FAB SEX.

Well...

I will say the good news first. I went in for my ultrasound and post-coital and the post-coital looked awesome. Even though I felt SOOOOO dry, my internal mucus was perfect. DH's minions got to the right place and everything was just as it needed to be. My uterus looked perfect, etc.

Bad News - 50mg of Clomid did not work. I am not going to O this cycle. The follicles should be 17-20cm, my largest cyst is 8cm.

Oh well, since the CM and everything was good, I am off to next month with 100mg of Clomid.

I am trying to be positive and for the most part I am but it is still disappointing, you know?

Wow... sorry to be posting in here so much today but you know... I am just babbling and bored.

I would like it to be next month now, please.

It might sound lame but I was really hoping for a around my birthday on the 13th but oh well... no such luck. I am okay with trying again with 100mg Clomid next month but I just can't shake the disappointed feeling.

DH says that I should just be happy that every other aspect of this cycle was good. (CM, Uterus, Sperm Location, etc.) I am, I swear I am but still... doesn't do much freaking good if I am not going to ovulate, right?

I am really positive about next month though. I just want it here now. LOL Maybe I can get a for my mothers birthday on July 27th. She'd flip. LOL!

This is sooooo good hun, and i am SO SURE that you will ovulate sometime in the next cycle, or atleast the next couple! Things are looking so good, so much better than the past months, right?

What were you on? just 50mg of clomid? That's not *so* much anyhow! I am sure your Doc just wanted to see what effect a small dosage would have...i am sure increasing it would surely help, it has to! Of course you'd have to endure the side effects of it *eeeeek* just a small price to pay well...that and waiting *doh* i tell ya, the waiting never ends!! I'll be here for ya though cheering you on!!! You're doing so great!


and 10 days until your bday! wootwoot! Any plans for that?

Thanks, Cheryl!!!!!!!!!! You made me happy! You are right. I am happy and the upped dose of Clomid will make a difference and it is WAYYYYYYYYY better than the past months!

For my birthday? I have to work. Booo... I do want to go see the new M. Night Shalamalan movie and go out to dinner so that is probably was DH and I will do. ^_^
