Yes, the earthquake started about 50 km from Reykjavík so I sure felt it! I was sitting in the sofa when everything started shaking, I could hear the glasses and dishes banging against each other in the cupboards etc. It started slowly and I thought it was an explosion from a near by building site. But it kept going and got stronger, then I was shaking violently and there was lots of noise, my bird was going insane on his cage! Then I jumped up and ran to the next doorway like you're supposed to do and waited until it was over. It was really strange, like I was a bit seasick, I almost fainted after it and my heart was pounding of course. Then I just thought "whoa that was a big one!" and of course went straight to my computer to check forums and news sites

I felt sorta seasick for 1-2 hours, I think it was because of hundreds of aftershocks, I could really feel some of them too, like being on a train .. only in your sofa
Well I'm glad to say that we only had 28 minor injuries; cuts and bruises, a few broken bones. A few houses are a total mess and some farm animals had to be killed after they were injured. Lots of ppl had to sleep in tents last night because their houses have to be inspected before they can go back in.
I got another shock though when I tried calling my grandmas house and she wasn't there, so I called my mom and she said grandma had been driving right next to the mountain where it all began! She could have been hit by massive boulders coming down the mountain!
Everyone is sorta standing by, waiting for a big aftershock, but I hope there won't be one. There's enough damage as there is.
Most people here are just glad that nobody was seriously injured and we all are thinking of the unlucky people in China that got hit really hard with a much bigger earthquake.
