Thanks Nic. It's true, I've been a bit down lately and that's SO not good. I was severely depressed (at the verge of getting disability for it, I was a complete mess) and it's roughly a year since I started getting better. I'd say I've been in complete recovery since may-june 2007. It really scares me when I'm "a bit down" because it often becomes a downward spiral I have no control over. I do believe that depression in often caused by your surrounding and situation (that was it for me at least) so I need to think about what causing me this depression and find out how I can "fix" it.

I will find out about the allergy in may, I couldn't get an apointment with the specialist until then. When my eyes get dry and sore and my nose gets stuffy I take some antihistamine pills and it gets better. Nic you sound like me mother in law, she's allergic to all kinds of perfumes and other things. She can only use special moisturizers and stuff, even had to throw away my father in laws aftershave

But thanks again, and all of you that read and comment in my journal. I don't know what I'd do without you. I don't have many ppl to talk to and everyone here's so supportive and nice.

I'm watching too and wishing you good luck. I'm busy studying too and I'm aiming for a BSc(Hons) in Geoscience ... just for fun would you believe it. Hence my trip diving in Iceland last year when we got to dive in freezing crystal clear water in between two tectonic plates. It was awesome as at one point I was able to place one hand on America and one on Europe (well, on the edge of each of their tectonic plates). It would have been even better if I had to have been able to feel my hands.

I love your homeland and I loved the people. If we lived closer I would invite you for tea.

Awww I'd love to have tea

Girls, I've been thinking ... I NEED A HOBBY!! Can you name something fun? I can't do much physical activity, used to go skiing and snowboarding but now I can't. I have no hobbies, I sit all day at the computer, from the moment I wake up until I go to bed. My OH is really into his car hobby and sometimes I take part in it, but it's still his hobby and I just kinda go along because I have nothing to do or I miss him.

So do you girls have hobbies?

Hey sweets,
Catching up again, I hope you're ok! We really are all here for ya, even if its only in cyberspace... Although, my DH is FASCINATED with iceland, we're hoping to take a trip up there one day... maybe a belated honeymoon... I'll pop in and say HI!

Hobbies... hmmm... you must know by now, i'm a sports nut... soccer and running in the warm months and snowboarding in the winter... Otherwise I read... Are you very artistic? My friend swears by painting... Or languages? I work for the UN, so half the people I know spend their free time learning X different languages...

anyway, just sending you some , its coffee time here!

Thank you Wendy, these are good ideas. I used to be a sports nut too, handball, skiing, gymnastics .. and then my body sorta broke down. I even had to give up my lifelong dream of becoming a police officer because I can't pass the physical exams or work in such a physical job. I still cry when I see the police academy's ads in the newspaper for recruits.

I do read but not when I have school work. I am a bit artistic but mostly in the writing department ... and again .. I don't have the brain power to write anything fun when I have Uni papers waiting. Languages is a great idea, would be really benificial for me as a political scientist to have some more language skills than other people. I also have a more "language brain" than "mathematical brain". When Uni finishes in May I might find a class that teaches french, I used to study it years ago but you know, I was like 17 and didn't find it very much fun. I had other things to think about like getting drunk/high, boyfriends etc etc ..

Also, call me weird, but I wanna learn Esperanto. My grandfather was sort of an Esperanto pioneer in Iceland, tought at the university and stuff. So if it's not very confusing learning 2 languages at once I might add it to my to-do list this summer.

Esperanto sounds like a brilliant idea! I don't know about French anymore, what may be helpful and what I would personally take if I had the time and the drive anymore would be Mandarin. That's an up-and-coming language to learn IMO.

May I ask, are both you and your husband students currently?

How about photography? My husband is taking a photography course this year and has started doing portraits for friends. He also has to complete some project work during the course and I am truly AMAZED at the stuff he's producing. I'm a little bit biased, but he got a distinction for his last portfolio and he really loves it. It's good for de-stressing too .... and you have the perfect subjects to study ... your gorgeous girls.

Just another idea for the pot.
