In answer to your question, I work it out by taking a number of things into account:

1) Temps obviously have to rise (usually with 6 days of lower temps beforehand, but if other signs are there, the 6 day rule isn't really an important one).

2) CM ... FF looks for the last day fertile CM is charted. Also, this cycle the change in my CM was was extremely obvious as it went from watery to sticky over night. A sure sign that I had ovulated on CD13.

3) CP ... Needs to be High.

4) PEAK reading on monitor. Your ovulation day is more often than not on the second day of a PEAK reading.

With all that considered, it's easy to guess. However I also input fictional temps and see what would happen if ..... and then I take them out again. This gives me a good idea of the temps I need to get. For example I need to get at least 36.36 tomorrow for the cross hairs to appear. Anything less than that and they won't show.

See, it's easy.


Ah, yes something else I noticed only today, but if you look at my green turtle signature graphic for FF, it reads CD16 - 3 DPO and yet my cross hairs aren't yet on my graph. So, it's already gambled that I'll have the right temp tomorrow. It must also be reading my previous charts and taking all my signs into consideration.

My prediction worked. FF reckons I ovulated on CD13 and today I have been given my cross hairs. Phew! I can take it that I'm now 4DPO and officially in the 2WW.

My test date will be 24th April 2008.

Ha, ha! Look at my signature ticker, it says I have only 9 days until testing which is 22 April, but my AF is actually due on 23 April with a 13 day LP and FF is showing my test date as 24 April so I'm going with that. (It will be one day after AF is due and I fully intend to wait until then).
