| Morning Tishi
Thanks for stopping by my journal. I thought I'd reply here re. my 'diet'. I put it in inverted comma's cause I don't think of it as a 'diet' per se -- I'm trying to change my eating habits in the long-term and learning how to make different choices. I have cut out cow's milk, cheese (except a small amount of feta & halloumi cheese once a week), red meat, chicken, sugar and all refined or processed foods. My decision to cut out lean meat & chicken is purely personal and in line with what I feel my body needs at the moment. I have also cut down on bread but not eliminated it (I try to stick to rye). Mainly I am focussing on trying to eat around 50% of my foods in their raw state -- so lots of salads, raw veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds. I eat beans/pulses with brown rice occassionally as well as fish, prawns and the odd egg here and there. I drink a lot of fresh juices -- carrot, beetroot (divine!), orange, apple -- I add in veggies like celery, spinach, cucumber, cabbage into my juices and it is surprisingly yummy! Ginger added to juices makes them extra special too. Add ginger to carrot/orange juice & it will be even more yummy! I also drink a lot of smoothies which I make with organic soy milk. You can add in so many different fruits, supplements and they are so good! I am going to make the following strawberry shake in a minute --
-- 8 strawberries
-- 3 dates
-- handful of cashews
-- soy milk
-- ice/water
-- sweetener (like stevia) to taste if desired
I got a lot of my ideas from Leslie Kenton's book called 'The Powerhouse Diet' which emphases the power of raw food. I must say I'm loving it!! I have been a sugar/ chocolate addict for most of my life and have found a 'raw' dessert which completely satiates my desire for chocolate. It is sooooo good -- give it a try and you will be amazed!
Avocado Chocolate Pudding
1 Avocado
5/6 fresh dates
3 Tbs cocoa powder
stevia to sweeten
Just put these ingredients into your blender, add enough water to keep everything moving, blend sufficiently and hey presto you have a yummy and nutritious dessert that tastes exactly like chocolate mousse!!! I kid you not!!! Avo's are also good for fertility apparently -- hee hee -- lots of folic acid & Vit E amongst other things!!
Anyway, I think I have over-colonised yr journal so I will stop now!!
Good luck with yr healthy eating plan.

| Brilliant Ya Ya, I have just bought a juice extractor for my blender and am looking forward to squashing a few carrots and vegetables to make juices. I have had a look at the reviews on the book you mention too and really like the look of it. I might just have to add it to my collection.
I could do with a citrus press now as I don't have one although there are lots of ways of squishing oranges, lemons and limes without one. I am hesitant to buy a separate juicer as I'm not convinced the equipment I have won't do. Just the citrus press to add and I can make pretty much everything. |

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Mine is fully of study, washing and wondering if my little cat will come home (he's been missing for 8 days now), but the less said the better as I am breaking my heart over him. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh sweetie. I won't talk too much about it, but hope kitty returns home safe and sound
Sounds like you need a well earned break, so you say September? Well that deserves a countdown - I mean we're already almost all the way through July, and how quickly has this year gone? or is that just me?
Either way, just wanted to come send some hugs your way. |

| Oh no, I hope yr kitty comes home soon Tish! I adore my cats and they have done this to me a few times over the years -- thankfully they have always turned up again though -- I know how awful it is not to know where they are!

Gosh I hope kittycat comes back!!!! I remember once when ours ran away, he was only young and we were sure that was it... spent an entire Friday night/Sat morn on the couch crying - both of us!! But, he came back two days later!!!!! They often get locked in cellars and such around our place... Fingers crossed!

Good luck for your results, hopefully you won't need them as you will have already had your BFP

| awwwww my kittycat went missing for 12 days last year and I was sick with worry for the first 5 or 6 days then gave up and thought he must be dead I'd looked everywhere and been to all the animal shelters and put up posters everywhere and posted leaflets out to hundreds of houses ( i love my pussycat) and nothing
But on the 12th day I got a call at work to say someone had herd that there was a cat living at the bottom of a dissused alleyway in the town centre and the ladys from an office had been feeding him. So I went and it was my Romeo! Aleep in a newspaper like a homeless person!
Have you tried giving out leaflets? |
