Hi, Im new and have endo, have done for 7 years now. TTC 6 months. No intervention as of yet, well apart from laparoscopies every 2 years but they were not esp for ttc and more for my own comfort. Love;y to see people in the same boat on here. you all seem lovely. xx

Hi

I've just seen this thread for the first time so thought I'd join if that's ok.

I've been TTC #1 since Oct 07. I have severe endo which I was diagnosed with in 2001. I have horrendous periods - usually have a day or two at the beginning when I have pain that painkillers does nothing for, I lie in bed unable to move and cant stop being sick.

This is a long story so I will try not to ramble, but basically, I got very ill at the end of May and was in a lot of pain - I was referred to hospital but sent home and told nothing was wrong. Then 24 hours later I was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. The surgeons rushed me into theatre and performed an emergency laparotomy. I had peritonitis and blood poisoning. My abdomen was full of pus so I had to be washed out - I spent a couple of days in intensive care and then another two weeks in hospital, and made a gradual recovery thereafter. I went back to work 2 weeks ago - although I'm still having some problems.

Anyway, they cant say for sure what caused it all, but they suspect it could have been a burst cyst. I had had a period a few days before I got ill, and when they opened me up they said the endo was extensive.

I am now on Zoladex to stop my periods completely and put me into a false menopause. My body just couldnt cope with having my usual periods while recovering from my operation. My gynae is referring me for IVF as he says if my tubes were patent before, they will probably be damaged now due to the infection. My OH and I are having bloods taken on Friday and once they come back clear we can be referred to a fertility clinic.

I had been scheduled to have a lap, but that was cancelled due to the emergency surgery, and my gynae now doesnt want me to have any further surgery unless absolutely necessary.

I am now eating what the hell I like as I was on the endo diet for about a year before my surgery and it didnt help with the pain, or the endo. I lost so much weight when I was ill that I am now pigging out to get it back on!!

I am so sick of this horrible disease, and I'm determined we will beat it, and have the baby we want so much.

I've been reading all your stories, and while I wish none of you had endo, it's nice to know I'm not alone.

xxxx

Hi guys,

Thought I'd pop in to tell you that I was diagnosed and treated for moderate endo last November. I then had a failed IVF cycle in April but managed to conceive naturally in June.

I'm currently 10.5 weeks and scared stiff but nonetheless very happy to be pregnant.

Wishing you all success on your journey to becoming a mummy!

xxxx

Which I have TONS of for the first time this year!!!!
DH and I went to the FS today and while his results from his SA were grim he said we were good candidates for IUI! I don't have ANY infertility coverage through our insurance plan so it's going to be 600 bucks per month. However, that pails in comparison to the 10,000 for IVF. We were planning on going to this consultation today just to find out what the game plan was, but put off treatment till our house sells. We don't have enough money for both right now, and our house is already on the market. BUT, after the appointment we were over at my mom's house and telling her about it and she said she will pay for it!!!!!!!! So we start next month I'm so excited....yahoooooo
