Smear Test

Hi ladies this may be a daft question but Ive been 'invited' to go for my next due smear test. Thing is as much as i know how important they are, I couldn't bear it if i thought it might jeapordise or ttc incase this month is finally 'our month' - do you think it could affect our chances? Does anyone have any adivce or ideas on this? sorry if it's a daft question...... thanks xx

I was worrying about this - had mine this morning, but thankfully I think I'm a few days away from Ov... made sure we BD'd monday night but didn't do it last night.

If I was you I would go and ask when you get there...you can always go home without having it done!

I know how you feel... I was fretting in case I was Ov'ing and seriously considering not going if I was because I didn't want to BD the night before and then go!

The things we do,eh... and TBH I know that the smear should be more important but it doesn't feel more important that forfeiting a little egg!!

Hope it goes well. x

Oh Girls......Go....Go....Go

Smears are fine to be done when ttc and also even during pregnancy.

To have a clear smear and not have the worry of anything sinister should far outway the thought of not catching one lil eggy....even thou there is no reason to miss it.

I'm sure we don't need to think very hard before we can all come up with a celebrity name that's more than likely not going to see her boys off to secondary school.

Heaps of ....now go get those smears done

I went for mine 12th jan i was on a few days past ovulation and she still did the procedure even though i told her i might be regnant (i wasnt tho) ... i had 3 letters to go for a smear and i ignored them up untill i heard about Jade goody and her cervical cancer, now its spread to her bowel, groin and kidneys it doesnt look to promising for her Im glad that mine came back normal.... Prevention is better than cure ladies!

Definititly go for your smear test.

My obstetrician did one at my first appointment after getting my BFP (it is routine procedure). I really don't think it affects your chances in ttc, if you are worried ask your doctor.

Also don't forget that when you are pg - processes in your body (including cell change) are accelerated so if there is anything that should be checked out now is the time - once you are pg they will avoid any futher invasive procedures (if you need treatment i.e. cone biopsy's) if possible until after birth.

xx
