Endo diagnosis :(

Well, after 2 and a half years of pelvic pain and various other problems I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis yesterday. I was relieved to have an explanation for everything but also sad because this explains why things aren’t happening quickly in the baby department. The Dr did recommend we try not rather than later for a baby, which is good because that’s what we are doing.
I was just wondering if anyone out there has gotten pregnant with endo, how long did it take you?

Thanks

I've suffered with Endo since I was about 13/14, I have been pregnant 3 times, the first time was a 'surprise' at age 17 and I had a m/c the 2nd was at 18 and it took me 9 months TTC and the result was my beautiful DD Lily-Mai who is now 4! The 3rd time I had a missed m/c which was discovered at 12 weeks, but again the pregnancy was a 'suprise'. I am now on my 3rd cycle of TTC baby No2, I'm 23 now so suffered with endo for around 10 years. I found that pregnancy was the best treatment I've ever had for endo, obviously the 9 month break from AF was nice but even afterwards my periods were a lot less painful, and still are although the pain has gradually got worse again over the years.

Good luck and it can happen! I used to suffer really bad with my endo, it would make me throw up , have diarrhea, I'd be literally sat on the toilet naked because I was would go really hot and sweaty and then have to have a bucket to be sick in because I couldn't get off the toilet (TMI Maybe? lol sorry if thats the case) but like I say this all stopped once I had my daughter, and the Dr's just tell me that it looks like the pregnancy helped me!

Yep thats how i was to! I would beg my mum for an ambulance when i was younger lol. Of course she never got me one and the doctors wouldnt do anything for me as they thought i was just bring mardy! I never got taken seriously till i had trouble ttc. How do you know you have endo? Have you had a laproscopy done? Because thats the only way you get a diagnosis x

I had a laparoscopy done in august ’10 where she removed adhesions and mentioned endo in passing but no diagnosis was ever given. It was only when i went to a different consultant that she said it is most likely that due to all the scarring found on the lap and my other symptoms.
she recommended the coil or down-regulation if i weren’t TTC and she said they could always go another laparoscopy in the future if those or pregnancy didn’t help.

Hi, I have endo too (not pregnant...yet). I know of quite a few people who have endo and managed to have kids; however I don't know how long it took them. Good luck to you!
