Hello - been trying for a few months...witch due christmas day

hello.
I'm new, just been lurking for a bit. It's only just started getting real that we're trying after talking about it for months, years!! I'm on our 4th month of trying and I'm not feeling very positive.
We both had flu this month and only managed to do the dirty twice around ovulation.
I'd had a coil before and no periods at all so only just getting used to my cycle. I think it's 23 days, seems to be regular, BUT I haven't had any positives using the ovulation sticks - has anyone conceived after having negatives? I used 10 this month, so in the end we just guessed when I might be ovulating and did out best amongst the snot and flu!
Anyway, the witch is due christmas eve or christmas day and I'm sure she's coming. I feel completely normal.
Also I seem to remember reading something about knowing you might be pregnant by your discharge - anyone enlighten me???

Thanks!

Hi and welcome!!

I've never had a pos opk either, I think it's quite easy to miss the hormone peak. I did exactly what you did and got through a ton of opks last month!!

Regarding cm, some people say they get a lot of cm when pg but really what you're looking for is ewcm around ov. How are you judging your ov date?

The only advice I can offer is to relax about it, easy to say I know! I got really obsessed with checking cm and opks. Temping can be useful, especially if you're not sure when you're oving.

Good luck!!

Thanks Mrs G, trying not to think too hard. We've been wanting to try for ages and now we are and things aren't happening, it just gets to you doesn't it??
Could only guess at ov date from my cycle length, then woke up with sharp stabby pains, which hopefully was me ovulating, but still no positive OPKs...will try a different brand next month.
No AF just yet, but got a BFN this morning (just couldn't wait and if I'm not PG then I'm going to have drink this christmas and enjoy myself at least!)

Fingers crossed for you next month xx

Thanks hun! We've been trying 4 months too and I've been through every extreme from obssession to not caring and back!! I'm pretty crap at knowing my own body so ov pains etc pass me by!

Have your cycles been pretty regular since you had coil removed? I'd say you should have ov'd around the 12th if you assume is on her way but I'm not sure with a short cycle like yours??

I've ditched everything this month, (except the preseed) and am just trying to get as much in as poss!!

Hey there...my af is due xmas day as well. I agree with Mrs G. temping is really useful if your not sure when you o. I've been trying for 4 months for our thrid. My first two were a piece of cake...but now my cycles vary by about a week every month i o early or late and is hard to pinpoint just right. I use opks, cm,cp and temps to help me out. The cm and cp are really only good to use to detect when your oing.

I dont have symptoms other then sore boobs and cramps really bad for five days on and off. I usually stat spotting by 9dpo and witch here at 12dpo. So far temp is up...no spotting and im 12dpo. Suppose to test tomrrow am but starting to freak about it!

Good luck to you in your ttc jouney and I hope its short and sweet

Thanks guys!

Good luck Gabby, hope you get the great Christmas BFP!

Definitely time to start temping, unfortunately I don't get up at a regular time each day, will have to try to be more regular and set the alarm (work is very laid back and my hubbie works shifts so sometimes we lie in!)

Yeah, post coil removal AF has arrived when expected, although it's still early days I guess, going from no periods to one every 23 days. It's a scarily short cycle isn't it? Does mean not having to wait long each time, but I do worry that it's sooo short! maybe it'll start getting longer the longer off the coil I am.

Before the coil (minerva) I used to bleed nearly all the time whilst on the pill or with the implant (no cycle at all), so I have a feeling all is not normal downstairs...but I'll keep on trying for a bit before freaking out.

Thanks for your well wishes, now I MUST go clean the house!!!

hmm, there's creamy white discharge for the last couple of days, not sure what to make of that.

we did the BD on the 10th and 12th (the only time we felt well enough!) so fingers crossed it covered the right times...

Will try not to think about it and will get on with feeling christmassy....do you think I can let myself have a glass of mulled wine??? I've not drunk all month because of trying and because of flu and I'll be really peed off to get AF and not have had a little bit of christmas cheer! Am I bad?
