No af for 11 weeks blood test advice please!

Hi everyone!

Just after some info or advice please if anyone has any?

I stopped taking the pill on September 22nd this year because we wanted to ttc. 11 weeks later and still no

Worried, I made an appointment with the docs, who reassured me that everything was fine, but wanted to send me for some blood tests just to check.

I know that I had three blood tests done 1 for LH 1 for FSH but the other one I cant rdemember!

Called today to get my results and the receptionist told me that 2 came back fine, but the doctor would call me back about the other result when shes back in work on wednesday as she needs to discuss that with me!!!

Worried and a little scared I just agreed and didnt ask any questions about what results came back fine and which one didnt

Just wondering if anyone else has had these kind of tests done? what they are for? what kind of problems bad results can cause????? etc etc.

Really need some more info as not sure what to even research and look into etc for more advice and knowledge

More info : am 24, started taking micrigynon 30 at 18 ish and never had any breaks from it until September this year!

Thanks girls, look forward to getting some feedback and some help!

Hi

Hope you dont need to be on these forums for long ;-)
I had the same blood tests as you, just trying to think what I was tested for. One test was for LSH, FSH and Progesterone. Ill try and remember what else!

That would be good. How were your results? It's good to hear other peoples stories and to see that I may not be alone in all of this, and that others have been through the same!

Was it prolactin?

THaTs a hormone that stops periods if it is raised. And it can be raised due to lots of reasons incl stress, medication etc

If you want to do some research look up amenorrhoea (secondary)

Use somewhere like patient.co.uk or nhs direct

good luck x

An Update,

Spoke to the doctor today! She was very reasurring.

Although not all the tests have come back, she did say that the kidneys / Thyroid and anemic ones came back fine.

But one of the results suggsts that I may have pcos (I think thats how it's shortened!) They can't be sure as they are not sure where in the cycle I am due to no period etc. They will be sending me for an ultrasound (internal i believe) to get a better idea on this.

So next question for you girls!!!

Anybody suffer with PCOS had an ultrasound etc what did they find? What did they do? Were they able to tell you straight away? Have you had PCOS and still had children etc. Would be good to know!

Thanks Everyone! Your support is brilliant and does really help.

I am waiting for my results and so can't tell you my results!

I think the LH and FSH ones show up the possibility of PCOS. As the LH is much greater than the FSH in people with PCOS, rather than being similar levels.

Good luck with the scan.
