Messy Cycles!

Ok so my cycles are crazy, and yet my dr tells me not to stress that everything is normal! I am getting so frustrated with everything because there is no consistency! I have a few questions for everyone

1) has anyone ever had a problem with vitamin b complex? I am taking vitamin b super complex and a prenatal vitamin and this cycle i dont think i have ov yet! I am on cd 18!!! I only ever have a 28 day cycle so this is not good! I am hoping that the b complex lengthens my lp and therefore makes my cycle longer, but I am scared it messed up ovulation!

2) Has anyone ever had a D&C and is still ttc? did af come back normal? how long did it take to concieve after if you have?

3) What about opks, I get four pos in a row usually, does anyone else get this many pos? Do some people ov and not get any pos, becuase this cycle I feel like I have ov, but my temp is still down and I have not had a true pos opk!

4) preseed, i am trying it this cycle because i dont get ewcm, I only get c cm, can this affect anything with ov or opks?

5) also anyone ever used vitamin b complex and opks, I mean your urine gets like neon yellow, so does this affect the opks?

I am like freaking out I know, but this cycle is so messy crazy its annoying! I called the dr and she thinks I worry too much, but I cant help it when i am not ov and my lp is so short. She said to keep using the opks and to call monday to let her know how the weekend went and if i ov. then from there i will order blood work....

1) It seems all is going normally, last cycle you get a pos on the 18th just like this cycle. My first cycle on B-Complex, I did not O early, I just had a longer LP - 11 vs 15 days. This is my second cycle on it and I did O early.

2) Sorry, can't answer this one.

3) One cycle I ov'ed with no pos, but my chart confirmed O. The most I've ever gotten in a row is three.

4) No preseed won't affect anything.

5) Neon yellow yes, effects? No.

Why do you say your cycles are messy?

I also have crazy cycles, and by that I mean anything from 31 days to 140!!

My doctor also told me not to stress a year ago and that it would sort itself out. I got a second opinion and was referred staright to a Specialist as I haven't had a bfp 16 months later.

To be honest, I didn't find any vitamins, herbs etc worked for me in any sense (although everybody is different) as I have tried everything and nothing has worked. Im currently waiting on my 2nd F.S appointment and my advice would be that if you are really worried, possibly try another G.P. Each doctor seems to have a different solution.
Best of luck

well v i think i got a pos on cd 18 because it was almost if not the same as the control line, but it was not darker for sure. Dh and I didnt know but compared to today it was more pos than todays. but i dont think I ov because my temp went down today, and i got the more neg opk today. so do you think i ov today then? what i am concerned about is that i usually get more than one pos opk, so if i oved wouldnt todays have been pos too? and if i were ov today, then it should have been pos as well. so then it seems like i am going to ov later than normal. and since i have not ov yet then i dont know if the b complex is actually helping my lp yet or not.

1)
I understand your frustration...I had been on the bc pill for so many years I have no idea if (now that I'm off of it) my periods have always been this irregular and that's normal for me, or if they are just irregular because they are still trying to regulate themselves. Anyways, i definitely know how you feel. I don't know anything about B-Complex. Is it supposed to help regulate periods?

This is the third month out of the last 6 that I didn't even get to fully appreciate my 2ww as AF showed up 5 days early again! i had two months in a row where AF was 4 days early, then I had NO period whatosever for the entire month of October, finally got one in November and then this month is came early. I have no idea what is going on so I am going to talk to my gyno also. Honestly, I am half-tempted to find a new gyno and tell them that we have been TTC for 1 year (it's actually only been 6 months) so that they can start pursuing other methods (if necessary) and test for some things that I would like to know about. This could be a bad idea - what do you guys think?

3) I often get several days of posiive OPK's - this last cycle I tested STRONG positive for 4 days in a row. I did some research on it and there is a wide variety of women who get strong positives for several days and some people who only get a faint dark line and this counts as their "positive". So it's difficult to judge what it "normal" since every woman is so different from the next.

4) Pre-seed is awesome.

I know that as frustrated as we all are with just TTC, the added stress of irregular cycles is sometimes overwhelming so keep your head up! good luck!

Thanks for your input. I dont know how strongly you like your gyno so i cant tell you what to do, but I can give you an example of some advice that helped a friend. I have a friend who hated her gyno, she has thyroid problems overweight and pcos and her dr didnt want to help her when she was ttc in the first six months either, so she switched gynos to my gyno who i like a lot and she told her she had been ttc for 10 months, my gyno put her on clomid and some thyroid meds and prenatal vitamins, told her if she didnt get pg in 3 months to come back and they would do other tests, well she got pg in the 3rd month. So depends on what you think of your gyno. I like my gyno thats not the problem, its the nurse practitioner i have been seeing in her place because i can get in whenever i call to see her, my gyno takes a good 2 to 3 wks notice to see.

the b complex is supposed to lengthen your lp, which sounds like if af is coming early for you that you may want to consider taking it. that means from the time you ov to the time af shows up is less than the ideal 12 to 14 days then your lp is short like mine. my first cycle ttc i ov then af showed up 8 days later makin my lp 7 days. its started to get better on its own and then i decided to take vitamin b complex to help.

1stBaby - thank you very much...funny that I came here to try to help you and give you advice and you end up giving it to me instead. LOL I really liked your friend's story. Like you, I also like my gyno but if he's not going to help me when I go in to see him on the 22nd of this month, then I am really thinking about doing what you friend did. Who knows, it just might work. Hopefully I won't have to switch doc's because I do like mine, but I hope I find a good one if I do.

I will definitely be talking to him about what you told me about the short luneal (sp?) phase. I forgot that I also had my period come one month 9 days after OV. I really appreciate your help and I hope you get sorted out as well. :-)

Ok, let me address two different issues.

Issue #1: You don't have to have a positive the day you O. I've seen many charts with positives a day or two before actual O.

Issue #2: B-Complex MAY help with an LPD. There are three major reasons for an LPD:

1) An over-mature/immature follicle
2) A corpus luteum of bad quality
3) An insufficient uterine lining

B-Complex is supposed balance the reproductive hormones and promote the health of the developing follicle. This should help with reason 1 and 2. However, if reason 3 is your problem, it will not help.

Out of curiosity, what are the amounts of each B-Vitamin in your B-Complex?

Just so you can have another opinion, more is always better!

1) I don't take B-Vits but I do take a prenatal, but honestly I can't imaging that it would do anything bad to your cycle.

2) I had a D&C at age 18, and I am TTC at 34 now. I don't remember if it took a while for AF to come back, but I don't think so. From what I've read, one or even two procedures should not cause a TTC problem.

3) 4 positives is a lot, but totally normal, it just means your surge is on the longer, slower rising/falling side. Mine was 2 or 3 days last month, and I just started surging yesterday evening, but it took until tonight for the test line to be darker than the control.

4) Preseed can only help, I use it too!

5) I don't know for sure but if I had to guess I would say no.

Do you have any pics of your OPK strips?
