Baby Aspirin

I have begun to suspect I have a problem with implantation and/or early sustaining of pg. I have read several places that baby aspirin can help with this. Does anyone have any thoughts/experience with taking it while TTC?

Thanks and for everyone!

it also improves blood flow to the ovaries, improving follicle development, and improves blood flow to the uterus, improving the quality of the uterine lining. This increases the odds that implantation will be successful. Also, during pregnancy, it will help to prevent mc or fetal demise in those prone to blood clots. Having blood clots form in the placenta and/or umbilical cord in the cause of many of these pg losses

But you should check with your Doctor before starting any kind of Aspirin regimen, since it is a blood thinner.

Hi

I am taking baby aspirin. I had 2 mmc and read somewhere on BNB that someone had taken it after miscarriages. It's a really low dosage (75mg) so shouldn't cause any harm to you or the baby. You can expect heavier periods though as it increased blood flow.

Good luck

xx

It has to be the low dose (75 or less) and tell your doc.

Baby aspirin is given to ladies who are anti-cardiolipin antibody postitive and have increased factor 8. Anti-cadiolipin antibody is related to recurrent abortions. These people have more tendency to clot and therefore may develop clots during pregnancy restricting blood flow to the developing foetus and thus a miscarriage/impaired development.Research says such women also find it difficult to conceive (as far as I have read). Such women are treated with a low dose aspirin 75mg per day throughout the pregnancy.... though it must be stopped a few days (2days) before delivery. Aspirin causes decreased platelet function and thus thinning of blood. Remember aspiring should not be taken while u are TTC. You should start taking it after u get pregnant.

I did research on this topic as.. I had a miscarriage in july - impaired development- absence of heart beat. Unfortunately, In the UK anti-cardiolipin antibody test will not be done until a women has 3 miscarriages. Luckily had been to India in september wherein my mother got me tested which came back positive and the Gynac there adviced me to take Aspirin.

Hope this helps..... Please please consult ur doctor b4 u take any medicine.

Hey sweets, I've researched that too, but not everyone should take asprin, you need to make sure you don't have any other issues that the asprin would aggrivate:

If you're allergic
History of uncontrolled high blood pressure (or just high blood pressure as it could cause preclampsia in pregnant women)
Liver or Kidney disease
Diabetic retinopathy (abnormal blood vessels in the back of the eye due to diabetes)
Peptic ulcer or other gastrointestinal disease
Bleeding problems (excessive bleeding, not being able to clot, bleeding in the brain)
Anyone taking blood thinners (like Coumadin) (anyone with heart problems)
Gout
Anyone taking prescribed meds for health issues, including allergy meds

So...please discuss it with a doctor to see if you are a candidate. Just because it's 'baby asprin' or a small dose doesn't change the fact that it could be very dangerous.

I'm going to ask my dr on Tuesday about it.

From that list that Meli just posted, I think you should definitely talk to your doctor first!
