Ok, answer these questions:

1. How long is your cycle?
2. What day approx do you ovulate?

So, here are the basics (without taking into account your answers).

You should temp every morning at around the same time (within 30 mins at least) and you should do it before you do anything else - talk, get up, etc.

You should observe your CM everyday at various stages of the day because CM can change. I do it around 3 times a day. I mark the best CM I find.

You should take your OPK after 2pm. You should limit your liquid intake at least 2 hours before you do so and hold your urine for at least that long too. I have heard anywhere from 2pm-10pm will give accurate results. You should do this at approximately the same time everyday and some even do it more than once a day.

Wow, hon! your chart is all over the place at the moment. No worries though, AF is still and that can effect it.

Couple of things, though. Make sure you are:

1. taking the temp at the SAME TIME every morning
2. Temping BEFORE you get out of bed, talk, move much, or lay there awake for long. Open your eyes and temp... keep your therm close to you so you don't have to get out of bed to get it. Lie still until you have gotten a good temp
3. Temping after at least 3 hours of consecutive, good sleep

Have you been doing all this and still getting those varied temps?

Hi tigerlady, i know i was thinking my temps look so up n down i must be doing something wrong, i've been taking it as soon as i wake up but i never wake up the same time, does this affect it? i'm also just using a normal digi therm, do you think i should buy one of those other ones? can't think of the name of them but i've seen girls mention them on here!!!

thanks tiger xx

I would buy one with two decimel places, they are usually called Basal Body Therm. but not all have the two decimel places, so be sure to look at that.

And YES, taking your temp at different times will effect it, even if you were sleeping before. Our bodies have a circadian rythm and will adjust our temps even while sleeping. Choose a time that is normally the earliest you get up (mine is 620 am) and then set your alarm for that time. Temp then and if you don't want to get up, just go back to sleep for a bit. That may help even out the temps.

Ok, since you have a 28-30 day cycle, we will use 28, since it is the lower of the two. Because you don't know when ovulate (early of late), we will assume early so you don't miss it. The earliest you'd ovulate on a regular 28 day cycle would be 10dpo (as you cannot go past 18dpo without something being wrong or you being pregnant). This will tke you all the way to CD17 if you bought the type with 7 sticks, so you should be fine.

hey guys, kinda crashing this but I have what might be a ridiculous question which you may roll you eyes at.....

Surely teeny things like what wear to bed affects ur temp. What happens if for example one night I wore shorts and a vest to bed and the other and jumpers and jogging bottoms?I would be hotter in the morning and this would reflect in my temp......Does it affect it so much that it makes it invalid?

Sorry if it seems stupid but I have been wanting to ask for ages! Am thinking of temping next cycle if i'm not successful (which i hope I will be!)

Thanks in advance !

xx
