Ways of telling when your Ov'ing ..?

Good evening everyone hope you're all doing good ^^
I havent been monitering when im ovulating, just sorta second guessed by the whole 14 days thing whenabouts I would be and making sure I BD on those days ...
But i'v just been thinking, i would actually like to know for sure when im ovulating (or if I even am atall shock horror haha) .. but I dont really wanna get caught up in the OPK thing etc etc .. bit undecided on what to do.

AAAAAAAAAAANYWAY .. just wondering really if there are ways of telling without going out and buying myself a whole load of stuff? Like natural ways I guess.

Thanks in advance, I know how helpful you girlies are!

If you want a way to be really reliable in a short amount of time, then no, I have never heard of any way to tell for sure without some sort of testing or charting.

You can TRY to use CM (cervical mucus) and CP (cervical position) but it will probably only be minimally helpful and will take several cycles to get a good idea of what you are doing (which is essentially charting anyway, just not with temps). Besides, it seems to vary the most of all the signs, so is not all that reliable anyway.

Some ladies can tell by o pain, but if you don't get that then that won't work. Even if you do, it may not be perfect. I get it EVERY month, but it is a little different every month and sometimes comes a few days before, the day of or even a day or so after.

They only way that I know to pinpoint ovulation is to BBT (even OPKs won't tell you exactly, they only tell you 12-48 hours away).

Sorry to have no other directions to point you in, but I haven't heard of anything else. And every place I research says that BBT is the ONLY reliable way of knowing for sure when you ovulated.

Good luck!

Like LadyT above, I know of no precise natural way. I use both OPKs and chart and that's the only way I know for sure I am ovulating (and when). The only other way is ultrasounds and I think that's even a step above. Sorry.

Hi cherryorange.

I've got a same problem, a dh who is convinced it'l "just happen"...

Had to get emotional to make him take vitamins (do feel a bit bad..!) I'm gonna use opks this month and see if it makes any difference. I've also read some advice here that eve primrose oil is good from CD1 to 14. Got some good advice from tigerlade (thanks again) about cm so do feel a bit more prepared this month.got me this morning so I'm starting all again!!!

I've come straight here from having just bought a BBT, OPK's and some 10miu pregnancy tests off of ebay....WelshRose is going to become educated about her cycle! Well that's the theory anyway!

Good for you!! I can understand not wanting to overdo it too, it's not right for everyone, but for someone like me (practically anal about some things, LoL!) it's a must.
