| Highlights are ok b/c they are not placed/absorbed directly on the scalp. (I sent some dust to your journal!) |

| Yep - should be fine, as should colour at that early stage.
FWIW they don't use the harsh chemicals they used to. xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My hairdresser always said it was fine as long as the person wasn't past 12 weeks, apparently the only reason they are reluctant after that is because of the hormones in pregnancy which can cause slightly unusual or undesired results. Obviously may be advisable to not have whole head colour done while pregnant, but highlights would be fine as no contact with skin, and anyway in 2ww would think would be fine anyway x |

| My hair dresser told me (she is a friend as well) They used to make hair colours with harmful things in them to avoid when pg but they dont use harmful things anymore. With my first pg I didn't have it coloured for the first 3 months but I dont think that was nessary. I dont have my hair coloured any more and actually haven't used any shampoo or products on my hair for over 3 months, but before and during my pg I had my hair bleached A LOT!!! I recon you should be fine hope it looks nice when you do have it done xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | OTIS (Organisation of Teratology Information Specialists) are the body who conducts research and produces information with regards to use of substances that may cause birth defects, and how to prevent them.
Here si the fact sheet they produce on hair treatments and pregnancy. I appreciate it's jumping the gun a little in the 2ww, but it may make some people feel better to have it as gospel so to speak. http://otispregnancy.org/pdf/hair_treatments.pdf |

I know the thought process *should* be, "what are the chances?" - but I tend to live in the "what if?" mode.. |
