When to use opk's?

Hi girls,

I've only used opk's in one cycle before. I got my positive on day 17 but didn't appear for another 4 months!! Obviously I have some hormone issues which I am trying to get sorted.

My last cycle was relatively normal (for me!) at 43 days, ov on day 30 (charting told me this).

Im currently on cd6 and just wondering when you think I should start opk's?? Should I start around CD 14 or leave it a bit longer as last time it was CD 30 ?

Opinions appreciated xxx

There's a table if you scroll down on this page which tells you when to start testing. It only goes up to a 39 day cycle but should give you some idea: Day to Begin Testing

I'd go from the day they advise for your shortest cycle length you've had if they're usually irregular then...might end up using a lot more OPKs but at least you won't leave it too late x

If you have such long cycles you could get through alot of opks.. I started on cd 9 i think but then ran out on cd 19 so never had a positive,as i ovd on day 21. I was charting as well though, and that combined with some serious bding i got my bfp. I would say if you're charting as well and you know roughly when u ovd last time round, then start testing about a week before you expect to ov.good luck x

I bulk bought OPK's so I could test all month as I am on CD9 after 2 years pg and breastfeeding (still breastfeeding actually lol) so I really have no idea how long my cycle will be. Started testing on CD7 and will continue until we stop BD at the end of the month I recon. So just test as much as you can and vto cover all bases just BD ALOT!! lol xx
