Hi Girls,

I haven't posted much here recently. TBH I've felt a bit homeless. We've been ttc 13 months now and only one mc to show for it. I've been finding it really difficult to read "Am I Preg?" posts, and "OMG I'm preg" posts when I have a painfully empty belly. It's just jealousy, but I find it so hard to see people who've been ttc for just a few short months get preg. Of course I'm happy for them and wish them all the luck in the world, but I'm still empty.

I'm on CD2 now and am having a period from hell which is probably why I'm feeling so down. Sorry for TMI but I'm getting through the super strength tampons in no time at all and just feel utterly crap, having 'leaked' in bed for the first time in 15 years. Just feel drained and sad. My baby would have been born this time next month. I was dealing with that quite well when I thought it was a chromosome-type problem which caused the mc. But now I've been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid, I realise it could have been a healthy baby and my body just couldn't sustain the pregnancy.

Sorry for rambling, just feeling s**t and don't want to do anything. Can't post in LTTTC board as feel they have all been trying for longer with serious problems and I don't want to insult them.

Sorry, I'll shut up now. I'm not expecting any replies, I just needed to vent somewhere before I go loopy.

Hi Schmelly. I'm so sorry you're having a bad day. It sounds like you've been through an emotional roller coaster. The one positive I saw is that maybe now that your underactive thyroid problem can be fixed, so can your ttc troubles! And feel free to vent here anytime! My thoughts are with you and your little angel...

Just wanted to give you loads of and say I am sure that the LTTC Lady's will be wanting to give you the same thing! and you are welcome anywhere! Is there any medication for your under active thyroid you can take x x x x

The LTTTC board is for people who have been trying for 12 months or more. Come over and join us, we all moan about exactly the same things as you have in your post and you will probably even find someone who has been through the same as you.

im the same as you; over 13 months ttc and also only a mc to show for it..i can so empathise, chicken. However, as was so eloquenty put earlier, the under active thyroid is something that can be helped so try, although as hard as it can be, to look at the glass as half full. You've got something, in fact two things..you did get pregnant (which means you're not infertile ) and you have something that can be treated and give you a better and happier future- a bump included!!

Chin up sweetie... im the same but there's a brighter future ahead of us both..good things come to those who wait! if only i could get some help with the waiting though, lol!!

I was and am in a similar situation as you. I miscarried in June and was told that this is extremely common, and it was probably a chrom. problem. I begged my doc just to do a little blood work (they normally don't with first miscarriage). She reluctantly agreed and this is when they found out that I was hypothyroid. My TSH level at the time was a 15!!! I was put on 75 Mg and in 4 weeks my level came down to a 2.3 and in another 2 weeks it was a 1.3. My endo. said that sometimes pregnancy brings out an underlying thyroid problem. He said it could have been this that caused the m/c or it could still be a chrom. problem. He said the good news is that with treatment, (medication) we are at no higher risk for any m/c . Ideally, they like to see the TSH in between a 1-2 when TTC. The bright side is that you found out before you got pregnant again, like me. Untreated, we would have just kept having m.c until they figured this out. I know it sucks, and I have days where I feel the same way as you. Many women have m.c and they never find out why and they may keep having them and doctors will tell them they are completely "normal". With us, we had a problem, they are fixing it, so hopefully it won't ever happen again!!!! Doc also said once TSH is at the 1-2 level we are much more likely to become pregnant...so i am holding on to that!!!

i 2know exactley how u feel...my baby wud of been due 23 this mth, im bk at docs on monday and will refuse 2 leave till ive had some blood tests done, dh is having a sperm count,we see different docs,but i will say its only fair that i get tests done aswell !
of course we want to be happy for the ladies that get pg in the first mth etc...and i do,but my gosh i totally feel like ive totally missed all my congrats etc, hang in there hun, r u charting?

whats TSH ? or does any1 know, infact wot r the tests i shud ask 4? anything that may have caused me to mc...plus hormone level tests? x x x xx
