Last year i went to the doctors as we had been TTC for nearly a year and it just hadn't happened. My GP basically told me i needed to go back in the spring if i hadn't conceived. Obviously it's way passed spring now, and i never did go back. I couldn't pluck up the courage to go back but finally yesterday made that step to make an appointment. It's today and i'm feeling so nervous. Anyone know what i should expect, will i get tests or just a referal to a fertility clinic or what? We have been trying to conceive now for 20 months!

Hi Mama2connor - think you are just right after 20 months to go back to the doctors and seek some advice on what next. Not sure what you should expect but I think your doc should offer you something be it tests or a referal. Hope your doc is v helpful today and gets things moving along for you. Best wishes.

Thanks, i hope everything goes well too. Last time i went she did say she may refer me to a fertility clinic, but like i say that was last year so i haven't a clue what to expect.

I suspect the first thing she will want to do is run some standard blood test ....CD5 and 21, to check you are ovulating properly, and then the results of those will dictate what happens next. She will probably also recommend SA for your partner.
